Pink Saturday

If you were able to return to your "happy child life, glad and free" this Summer, good for you!  Did you get to the beach for a paddle, or to sail your boat?

Looking down on the pebbly beach at Clovelly, North Devon ~ May 2009

On this day the sea was sparkling, but much too chilly for children to be dancing about and trying to keep the ocean out! However, early May brought pink blossoms and plenty of English sunshine, how lucky for us.  Always one of my favorite spots on the English coast, the village of Clovelly tumbling down to the beautiful sea.

Pink Saturday is upon us again.  Perhaps you are at the beach this weekend.......if so please paddle for me...... and then stop over at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound to visit all the participants who have taken the time to post in pink.......it's a fun day!

  3. We used to go to Clovelly when on our holidays in Devon when I was a child. I remember the steep cobbled hill leading down to the sea and there were donkeys plodding up it. Are they still there? I'm going back to the very early 1950s here! It's a beautiful photo and has brought back happy memories.

  8. Good Morning Mary Sweetie...
As always such a beautiful post. I so enjoy coming to see you.

The little poem with the children is precious, and I absolutely adore the little dress on the girl. Isn't it precious?

This Summer, well most of it, I have been locked up inside with my lungs, but I have revisited some happy memories through pictures and my heart and mind. What a fun time I have had dreaming of yesterday and vacations gone past.

Thank you for sharing with me sweetie. I so enjoyed the pebbly beach at Clovelly, North Devon you have shared today. I can smell the clean air. I could feel the cool breeze blowing through my hair, and I could hear the birds screaming over head. What a beautiful, beautiful share.

Have a beautiful Saturday sweetie. Do something fun today.

Country hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

  17. *sigh* That just looks so beautiful Mary! I do hope that once life is more settled (i.e. we have moved and things are organized in our new home) then I would dearly love to take the ferry to England. It has been too long since I was there and really do want to go again.

Hope you and Bob are well? Life is busy this summer with preparations and I am onlne so little but know it will get back to my old schedule once work starts in the house.

    Hugs from Holland ~

  18. Happy Pink Saturday, dear Mary.

What a lovely view and memory you have shared. I spent most of my life living by the ocean, and I can close my eyes and experience the soul-soothing experience.
