Pumpkins at Vintage Village

They're here!  A profusion of pumpkins at Sam's place at Vintage Village, just next door to SuzAnna's Antiques.

With the morning sun shining brightly after much awaited cooler nights, the pumpkins arrived this past weekend.  Sam knows what we like and when we need it.  Autumn's "hello" definitely arrives with intense color.  We may still be awaiting the leaves to change here in the south, but there's no shortage of pumpkins and gourds this year.

Sam specializes in farm antiques.........his inventory is interesting and unusual.

Most things are reasonably priced for your home and garden, however this beauty which I snapped last week had disappeared when I stopped by a few days back.  I'd been expecting to see it crammed with orange pumpkins too - a great color combination.  Sam had sold it for a thousand dollars!!!  Apparently it's one of few remaining from that era in that amazing condition.  I loved it for the French blue paint!

Sam, above, will soon have pots of mums arriving too - he gets the best plants.  He also has just-picked mountain apples from western North Carolina, and still some great vegetables.  When you head over to SuzAnna's be sure to say howdy to Sam......and pick up a few pumpkins for Fall decorating.

Next time I'll give you a glimpse at my pumpkins.....let's just say I'm not quite into screaming orange, and I do not carve anything!

I just have a minute Cheri' is getting groomed and we have to be there by 10:00am. Nothing is close where we live. Smile.

  3. Simply gorgeous! This is one thing I love about autumn. When we travel in the autumn I seek out just these sights. Can't resist buying a pumpkin, eventhough I have some in the garden. And mums, oh my! Love them.

  5. If I lived near you, I'd be stopping by Sams often. That blue cart was a find for someone, a lucky someone I should say.

Thanks for stopping by my blog to say hello. I'm looking forward to meeting you soon at Pennys.

  6. I only wish I could come and pick up a few pumpkins. I really miss seeing the great piles of pumpkins and gourds that are everywhere in the US at this time of year. No such luck in UK:(
