The Little Foxes

PLEASE indulge me!!  I'm so enamored by the new members of my garden family..........I've been clicking away from the kitchen window each time they come out to play.  Hope you enjoy seeing these cuties…..........and when you reach the end there's a surprise you have to take my word for.............

Mom the vixen, and one kit.

Not ONE............

...........NOT two.........

..........NOT three.........

........and, NOT even four!!!!

I told you there were four kits in the previous post......................I was wrong!
Yesterday a fifth little guy squirmed out from under the gazebo - what a surprise!  Trying to catch five fox kits playing together is going to be a challenge, they are so active and quick, however I did catch four together last evening.  Mama was sitting close by  watching their every move.......and we are wondering how long they will stay in the garden.  I'm never going to get any chores done, inside or out, while there's so much entertainment going on!

  1. It's amazing how identical they look! Guess I'm used to kittens who come in all colors even within the same litter. These little foxes are so very darling to look at and thank you for sharing the joy with the rest of us...

  3. They are cute Mary. But, will they become a nuisance? I'd worry about fleas and ticks from them. I know foxes here carry disease that dogs can catch just by walkin where a fox has been and we have to immunize our pets against it. So, do be careful. It's a shame we have taken over their natural habitat and the city neighbourhoods are now their new home just like raccoons and skunks. I hope they move along soon so you can enjoy your garden. Have a great day! Pamela

  7. Being a POM( I live in Australia and born in BLACKPOOL) I've only ever seen foxes come in red, yours look absolutely beautiful, having them so close to the house how do your pets react.
When my family were young we spent many days in the Lakes mainly around Ullswater, got as far as North as Carlisle one year....LOL. My grandparents came from Glasgow and Edinburgh but I've never ventured over the border. I lived in Blackpool for 30 years and was surprised to see your very different than normal view of the tower when I absentmindedly scrolled down.

  9. Aren't they cute. I hope foxes don't eat cats. We had coyotes all around when I lived-in my former life-in AZ and they got quite a few of our cats over time.

  16. My goodness, they certainly would be a surprise. You must be near a rural area. I don't think I would ever find these little guys in my garden. How exciting to watch them frolic.
