Romantic Prairie Style.....and a Giveaway

It's MAY DAY, and it definitely looks and feels like Spring has sprung around here. Enjoy your first day of the beautiful month of May doing something special. I'll be here awaiting the delivery of my new 'frig......my old GE has died after 26 years of magnificence, can't complain about that!

I've been waiting patiently for the fabulous
Fifi O'Neill's new magazine ROMANTIC PRAIRIE STYLE
to hit the newsstands............and at long last I found it over the weekend at B&N in a mall near me. It was sitting waiting to be snapped up from the New Arrivals display case.

I've been there a lot lately pestering the Customer Service desk staff, when I could drag them away from touting all that NOOK propaganda. A large part of the sales floor now seems to be taken over by NOOK 'nooks'. Pardon me but I'm old fashioned and like to hold a real book, such as the awesome 'The Dovekeepers' by Alice Hoffman - I'm reading it now. I have also been corresponding with the sweet Fifi herself, keeping her in the loop as to when and where I would finally discover her newest publication.

It is a beautiful magazine and this Premier Issue should be available everywhere by now. You may think it a wee bit pricey for a magazine, but it's quarterly and has 145 pages of beauty. Anyway, you're worth it, and mail subscriptions are available which will make it less costly. Make a nice cuppa, pull up your favorite chair, and start reading.

However, if you can't find the magazine.........because you may actually be way out on the prairie for real, or living in a little country town far from a bookshop, or even in another country where American publications take several months, if ever, to get to your newsstand...........and you'd like to have one, listen up!

I bought this extra copy shown above for YOU! Simple, no bells or whistles, just leave a comment on this post for a chance to win. Oh, you might like to stop by CHEZ FIFI, say "bonjour", read her fabulous blog if you don't already do so, and tell her how you hope to be reading a copy of her lovely new, hold in the hand, turn the pages, magazine soon.

I'll pick a name out of my sunhat in a week or so and mail the magazine to the winner.

  4. Oh me please, I love magazines like that. I had a whole bunch of Country Interior mags, I had then for 3 years but then handed them on to a friend to read, she will then pass them on to someone else.

  5. Would you please put my name in your sunhat? We do get American magazines up here, but not all. I have never seen this one, and I read about Fifi all over blogdom. I am consumed with curiosity!
Up here it is raining again, but Mother Nature seems to have things right, because the weekends are unfailingly sunny, so I won't complain.

  10. What a lovely thing to do Mary! I don't think it'll be available here, so a copy would be fabulous - different decorative ideas from a different country, seems like good inspiration to me :o)
Hope all is well with you.

  13. That looks like a lovely magazine. I miss Southern Living, which was my go-to fantasy mag. And I'd love to be in your hat for the drawing.

  14. Dear Mary
Mumbai looks amazing! My son has travelled India and loves it and the people! The colour is what gets me and those faces - especially the little ones.
I'm ridiculously soft at heart and would want to pack them all up and bring them home with me for some comfort and safety.....

I would love to win a copy of 'Romantic Prairie Style' - decorating mags are my faves but I'm sure that one won't be available here!
I'll pop over now to see Fifi too!

Thank you Mary and lovely to see you had popped by over-night!
