Beautiful days in Bath, England~~~

My view this morning from the hotel window - looking toward Pulteney Bridge.

Yesterday afternoon - the famous bridge from the other side with the waterfall.
This is the area where Javert (Russell Crowe) falls into the 'Seine' in the recent
wonderful film version of Les Miserables.

A snippet from The Roman Baths - looking forward to sharing this wonderful
piece of history and all of fabulous Bath later.
Off now with friends to a jolly picnic lunch at The Royal Crescent.
Weather perfect - in fact the loveliest of English Summer days - we are
so lucky.

  1. Hello Mary:

Bath has always been one of our favourite English towns and now here you are staying right in the centre and clearly, with talk of a picnic in the Royal Crescent, enjoying wonderful summer weather. If you have the opportunity, try to visit 1, Royal Crescent which is now a museum and shows what life was like in one of these town houses in the eighteenth century. Whatever, have fun!

  2. Mary,

Your beautiful images of Bath today take me back to my visit there a few years ago! Enjoy your picnic in the Royal Crescent and if you get a chance, take a stroll in the centre of town, which boasts a very chic and artsy High Street.

  5. Bath has such history - when we go to England I definitely want to visit. I didn't know that the "Seine" in Les Mis was really in Bath. The wonders of modern film making! Enjoy your picnic!

  6. Hmmm. I tried commenting and got an error message. Here we go again. Bath is an English town on the list of places to visit when we come to England. I hope you have a wonderful picnic, another quintessentially English pastime.

How interesting that the "Seine" in Les Mis is to be found in Bath. The wonders of modern film making.

  9. Oh, Mary...my heart is aching and I have tears in my eyes reading this post. Why? Because this area is very dear to my heart. I visited England for the first time in Feb. 2000. I stayed with my friends (they live in Bristol) and one day was spent entirely in Bath. I have the same photos of the bridge and of the baths...and yes, they took me on a little tour of the Royal Crescent, too. I had the time of my life on that trip. I hope to one day visit them again and experience it all over again with my husband in tow this time.
