Shopping for Spring. . . . . . . .

Yes, my tulips are now blooming in the garden.
No, these are not from my garden!

A magnificent bunch of one dozen parrot tulips for just
$7.99 at Trader Joe's a couple of days ago.
I just couldn't resist.
I think they're stunning, don't you agree?

  2. Dear Mary, I love Rembrandt Tulips. Wish we had a Trader Joe's nearby. I have found Rembrandt bulbs at Costco in the Fall. In the meantime, the deer ate my tulips.
Love the way you have arranged your tulips and love the black candles.

    1. Gina dear, they are actually dark chocolate brown candles and I love them as they seem right for every season - although I admit I did buy them to match those brown reindeer in my Christmas decor!!!
My first tulips to bloom in the garden are from Costco - they are mostly pink and double, pretty but very short stemmed. I don't recall actually choosing those bulbs so they are a surprise. Love how tulips continue to 'grow' once cut - and I don't really arrange, just plonk them in a container and let them do what they will, such fun flowers.
Sorry about your darned deer - thankfully we don't have them, however something big has been munching on my bluebells, grrrr!!

      Mary -

  4. Love these tulips and love Trader Joe's. Two or three TJ's in town, but it's a big town, and I'm hoping for one in my neighborhood soon to quickly pop into. šŸ˜„

  5. Beautiful! I need to head to TJ. MY tulips I bought at Publix before Easter finally gave up.

  6. Parrot tulips are so attractive - each year I intend to plant some and then completely forget - they make me think of Dutch still life paintings.

  8. Gorgeous and showy tulips like those really attract the eye. There's nothing like a vase of flowers to liven up a room.

  9. Ohhhhhhh such fancy girls they are. What a delight to bring home fresh flowers - I adore tulips, I might need to run out and get some - mine won't bloom for a few weeks yet.

  10. Thank goodness for Trader Joe's :) Our local store has the best flowers: lavender, delphiniums and, yes, parrot tulips!! Happy spring to you and Bob! xoxo
