Open House. . . . . . . . . . .

The Vintage Village and SuzAnna's Antiques held their annual Christmas Open House
Thursday night - and what fun it was!
On a perfect evening - a calm and comfortable 55F - Santa arrived as costumed
singers and musicians played old country and modern carols. Lights glittered and
glimmered as we raised a glass and nibbled on delicious cheesy and sugary morsels.
The mood was jolly and bright and the crowd shopped and mingled.

My granddaughter Jasmin was the official photographer for the evening - however
 these are my photos, taken with my new iPhone 7Plus. . . . . . . . I'm surprised,
and very pleased, with how they turned out in somewhat odd lighting situations.

  1. I know how you hold Suzanna's close to your heart and it sounds like it was a wonderful evening. I'm loving so many of the beautiful antiques and pieces you've shared. How do your like the iPhone 7? I've heard it takes great pics and you have certainly shared that. In fact, I think my iPhone 6 takes better pictures at night than I can do with my good camera ( Canon Rebel). And no hurried settings)!

Cheers to enjoying the holiday season, Mary!

    1. You are so right Jane - the night shots are so much easier with the iPhone, truly just point and shoot for me! The size of the phone makes it so much easier for me to see things in large type - I'm really enjoying it.
Will e-mail you soon before leaving.

  3. It's amazing, isn't it, how good mobile phone cameras are these days! My partner recently got himself the iphone SE and gave me his iphone 4, so that I could finally replace my old iphone 2 - that one couldn't be updated any more and I had been using it since 2009, ancient for a mobile phone!
Even with the # 4, the pictures I can take are sometimes better or at least of very similar quality to what my old digital camera can produce.
Your event sounds very nice, I wouldn't have minded doing some mingling, sipping and nibbling :-)

    1. Thanks Mike - I did crop and sharpen them up a bit but didn't make any drastic changes. This iPhone is so much better than my former ones - so when I have left the camera behind I can get some fairly decent shots, even in lowlight situations!

  5. What fun. I love attending Christmas open houses in those interesting little shops.
Your photos are wonderful. I was especially interested to learn that they were taken with your iPhone 7 Plus. Just yesterday we purchased that very phone. We are just now entering the world of smart phones. Ha. This should be interesting :).

    1. You are going to like it a lot Kim - I love that I can see everything so much more clearly with the larger size. The photo quality is so much better than my two previous iPhones - these night shots were a pleasant surprise!
      Happy holidays -

  7. Your new phone does very nicely. Then how did you get them to your blog? I am swooning over all the things there, but love that reindeer soooo much.
