A morning of sunshine and an early walk through the garden
brought new surprises.
The first flowers to open. . . . . . . . . always bring a smile.
I send these tiny beauties to those of you in colder climes who have
yet to see your own push through the earth.
Along with the daffodils already in bloom, and with very warm days
this coming week, we are well on our way to welcoming Spring.

Your flowers are beautiful. My blue hyacinth did not flower this year. I think it may have died.

ReplyDeleteI love the flowers of spring that surprise you by turning up in unexpected places. The ones that you plant in your yard in one place and then magically appear elsewhere. And I'm partial to any blue flower - hyacinths, forget-me-nots, chionodoxas, squills.... I could go on. I am looking forward to spring - thanks for sharing what's to come.
ReplyDeleteRich colours, so welcome at this time of year. Blue flowers are my favourites. Well, blue ones and white ones, and sometimes pink ones. It's so hard to choose.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty! The "summer snowflake" is called Märzenbecher in German, March's cup, although I think it looks much more like an upturned crown than a cup. It usually flowers here in the spring, and since my birthday is towards the end of March, my grandma always brought me a small bouquet of them from her garden when she came to share the birthday cake with me :-)
ReplyDeleteYour spring blooms are just wonderful. We do have daffodils and crocus blooming in the garden, but last evening we also had a layer of snow added to the garden. It is suppose to be quite cold for a few days, so hoping our flowers survive. The roses were beginning to sprout also. Hoping for hearty, brave plants in the garden. I know our calla lilies probably won't do well, but then they always seem to bounce back. I will survey the garden in the morning light, but for now must return to bed for awhile longer.
