Jack, the 5 year old picked 3-4 berries and then started eating them instead of picking them off the bushes. Owen, the 6 year old picked for about 20 minutes and said it was boring!! LOL!! I love fresh strawberries. That is what we are having for dessert on Mother's Day! Jenny our youngest daughter is making lemon pound cake and will put strawberries on it with fresh whipped cream!! YUM!! I have enjoyed going strawberry-picking a few times with my granddaughters — we had such fun. The strawberries straight from the farm always tasted sweeter and juicier than the ones in the supermarket.Serena Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17789734075055678964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7310317081887553860.post-73825674586016993122018-05-10T16:15:47.325-04:002018-05-10T16:15:47.325-04:00Beautifully done, Mary and I too love picking the ...Beautifully done, Mary and I too love picking the strawberries. I go with my son and daughter-in -law and we make pigs of ourselves. This was a fun choice by Micheal and perfectly timed. I am sorry you can't do the actual picking, but the flavor is the same no matter who did the hard work. I thought of drawing one of our picked baskets, but time did not allow. Have a wonderful week, Mary ...

Andrea @ From the SolAndrea @ From The Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00657271089899579261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7310317081887553860.post-83918117563049606012018-05-10T02:15:05.445-04:002018-05-10T02:15:05.445-04:00Glad you're getting to enjoy fresh strawberrie...Glad you're getting to enjoy fresh strawberries already! Your sketch is lovely an dI love the original you worked from. Great job there!

Your post reminds me of the 2 years we lived in Norfolk when I was about 7. Even then I was not a country boy but the one thing enjoyed was picking strawberries and blackberries for the day and earning a few quid...or probably just pennies to a bucket but for us it felt like so much. It was the only time in my life we got close to any sort of pocket money. Ha. As is no doubt common too, esp kids, I often would eat the fruit whilst sauntering up to the money changer man. Well, regardless, he can't have given much as I don't recall ever actually spending anything with it. My guess is that I gave any change as we was not working much then and we were (as always) quite short on cash. Those were fun days though. I will have to tell you of some stories form there at some point. :)

Thank you so much. Another lovely entry.
