I love Colm Toibin's books, but I have no clue when it comes to pronouncing Irish names, and for that reason am reluctant to try books with an Irish setting. Every time I come to a name I can't pronounce, it's like a roadblock has been thrown up and I have to stop and think about how to pronounce the name before I can move on. This movie, however, is definitely on my list as I enjoyed reading the book quite some time ago. Colm writes with such tenderness in spite of harsh times . You’ll know what I mean when you visit Ireland Mary.
The film starts its NZ season on 21st January - I'll be there!
I’m forewarned and prepared to shed bucket loads too!

Love
Shane
Roses, Lace and Brocantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11821168025062104166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7310317081887553860.post-20243651783228496222015-12-17T15:22:10.140-05:002015-12-17T15:22:10.140-05:00I have never watched that movie...but now I will.I have never watched that movie...but now I will. It's Just Dottiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15917253947293861214noreply@blogger.com
