Dawn is magnificent...........when you're ocean front, nine floors up, facing due east. At 7:10 am the bank of clouds hover above the horizon and all looks fuzzy. The waves crashed onto the beach all night, lulling one to sleep. In the early morning light, before the sun comes up, they appear gunmetal grey, still washing the empty beach where nothing moves except the early shorebirds.
Well my computer just did one of those annoying temporary crashes and washed away my almost completed post, grrrrrr!!! So here goes, just photos of the beauty of Saturday and Sunday mornings at Carolina Beach this past weekend. Enjoy.
The lights of the shrimp boats twinkled through the night..............early morning they made their way back to safe harbor, hopefully with a good catch.
Please don't forget to get out and VOTE today............I became an American citizen after living in this wonderful country many, many years...........because I wanted that privilege. I voted early this year so mine is ready to be counted!
That's such a familiar holiday sunrise to me. Even if I usually see it from further down the coast. And oh, yes... I'm voting!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular photos, Mary!

Those pictures are just so beautiful Mary. We never lived oceanside but when Don was stationed in Fort Myers Beach we used to get up early and go down and sit and just watch the waves.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've visited you!
ReplyDeleteThese are awe inspiring dawn photos, you've captured the moment beautifully.
I will have a good look around if I may as there seems so much of interest here!!
Mary, do come and visit me and I'll get out my prettiest teacups and make you very welcome!
Take care

Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos. I love the beach in the fall when there's no one there. I became a citizen just so I could vote too!

Beautiful pictures! Glad you are having a wonderful time. I was just at Kure Beach (next to Carolina Beach) in October. It is so pretty down there. Enjoy! Love & blessings from NC!

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed your North Carolina beach shots, your sunrise looks a lot like ours did last weekend!
I'll be posting more of my South Carolina beach pix tomorrow, if you have a chance to come south for a visit.
