I would not like to live in a region of the world where winters were freezing and autumns were cold enough to make the leaves colour and drop. But as a tourist there is nothing more beautiful than large areas of yellow, orange and red leaved trees. Even the leaves lying thickly on the ground look spectacular.
Personally I enjoy the four seasons and did love living here in New England for several years long ago. After living in the south I don't think I would enjoy the severe winters up here now I'm older! Autumn here is awesome!
Delighted to know that you are both enjoying your sojourn in New England - a place known for its exquisite Autumn colours which you have captured perfectly in all of their glory. Happy travelling to you both.
Rosemary, it's so lovely here and we've enjoyed mostly fine weather requiring just a cosy cashmere sweater and light vest or jacket. Scenery is breathtaking in fall colors. Hope your trip is fun too.
Did rain here too Vee but not too heavy. We drove the back roads to Peterborough to meet friends - the leaves were falling - but actually they did look beautiful under the trees along the roadside. Yesterday we were at Robert Frost's farm - that was pretty as always but unfortunately they had already closed the house and museum for the season!
What beautiful photos. There is so much colour in the east during autumn. It's still so very dry and hot here, most unusual. We may have some rain at the end of the week, and it would be most welcome.
Absolutely stunning Mary ..... the leaves are only just beginning to turn here so we are a bit behind. I love the four seasons and, we are lucky in the UK as none of them are really severe. Enjoy the rest of your break. XXXX
Dearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds just great—enjoy the remainder of your time!
Hugs,
Mariette
Thanks dear.

DeleteSo lovely! We had a big rainstorm Friday last and it took a lot of leaves. Glad to see so many there hanging on.
