Too many small tables, never!
Voila, the round table I painted this week. I loved it so much I almost kept it here in my living room, but knew DH might trip over it and groan about too much furniture in a smallish room! I found it at a local consignment shop, in nice condition but wearing a horrid golden color stain. Of course I forgot to take a before pic, I was in such a mad dash to start on its makeover! I primed, then sprayed two coats of Heritage White (Rustoleum's double coat gives great coverage - available at Home Depot). I distressed lightly and it was done.............quite Swedish looking, perfect for any corner, at the end of a sofa, beside a bed, or even in a bathroom. Don't you just love little tables?
Placed the table in my booth at SuzAnna's Antiques yesterday................I hope someone will want to take it home to brighten up a corner in their home in time for Spring.
Marisa, if you happen to read this, remember to call me if you need some painting pointers for that dining room furniture you told me about. It was fun meeting you yesterday, I always love talking with SuzAnna's customers, especially those interested in making over their furniture. Of course chatting about Africa was an extra treat...........so glad you too got to visit that amazing country. Now go start painting that brown furniture girl!!!!!

Super table Mary, I love the crown underneath.
ReplyDeleteA dear friend of mine has recently cleared her MIL's home and is now the proud owner of 13 side tables! They're never short of somewhere to put a cup down now ;o)
I agree ~ you can NEVER have too many small tables. Yours is just lovely and would brighten any corner like spring ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat looks very stylish, Mary. I'm sure it will sell quickly.
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect size for any space. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with little tables about a year ago. I never realized how perfect they were! Your painted table is lovely Mary.....I also love the crown on the lower shelf.

Oh I love this little table. I do have a sweet antique little table that is a dark brown stained wood and am debating whether to paint it or not. The top of it is in bad condition with water marks and poor varnish. When the weather warms up enough I'll take it outside and transform it. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, It has been an age since I have visited you. I just caught up on your past posts. Delightful!!! every one. I love the metal chairs very much. So useful and charming. I know why you love them, they are YOU!!! Peeks into your space at SuzAnna's is so much fun. Your treasures are so perfect and speak very clearly...MARY. BIG smile.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee stained tags are awesome. The stamps and the coffee stain rumpled a bit...look very vintage. A great idea for your items for sale.
You are becoming quite the furniture finisher. Good job my friend. I too love tables.
I am dieting too because ten lbs. of Christmas cookies aren't looking very good on me. HA! No exercise during the winter didn't help either. I am walking to a walking tape by Leslie Sansone. I love it. It is called Walk off 10 lbs. in two weeks. She includes a two week diet in the DVD. It takes 45 minutes to walk three miles. A real fat burner and not too hard. I'm loving it!
Since I have been in Atlanta with my sisters for five days, I am happy to be home and finding some computer time again. It is good to chat with you this day even if it is only on the computer.
Happy days to you my friend.
Love, Jeanne
That little table has a great shape - and I'd be putting it right by the tub. How did you know?
ReplyDeleteMary, this project is fantastic and we agree that you can never have too many small tables. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for using Rust-Oleum!

ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while since I stopped by for a visist. Getting caught on your posts. I love the little table - perfect size for lots of places in my house. Wish I lived near you - the table would come home with me.
Hope you are having a lovely Spring in beautiful North Carolina.
Blessings,
Erin

ReplyDeleteJust thinking I needed more little tables. Love this one. Now if I lived nearby I would love pointers on painting and distressing.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary....
ReplyDeleteLove your little round table and yes, I would be happy to take it home. I have painted a few items of furniture recently and love the clean fresh effect they give to a room. I am deliberating about a larger sideboard, I think it would look great painted white, but not everyone is agreeing with me. I still need a little more confidence to go ahead with the project. Easter Blessings - Marion, Wales UK.
Mary, ove the litte tabe and the chair. Although I think I have to have the matching chairs from Vanessa's booth. I need trip to S.C. and Suzanne's! Enjoy your trip home, Lovely Lady.
ReplyDeleteLittle tables can always find a place in some nook. I love the way white looks, but it would never work in my house as hubby attracts dirt!
