What do people do on Cable Beach in Broome, Australia at sunset? If lucky, they ride camels as we did! What a wonderful experience - it was awesome!
Internet not great here on the ship, and of course very expensive - can't post a lot but just want you to know everything is going so well and we are now enjoying our third day on the ship sailing the Kimberley region. Think whales, swimming holes without crocs - thank goodness, waterfalls, great food, lovely people.......and very hot!
I don't think I have ever contemplated camels in Australia. How fun to ride a camel on the beach. Looking good up there!
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of feral camels in Australia. In fact we export them to middle eastern countries. Our camels are also highly prized for racing. Camel races are also held in Alice Springs, and buyers come from Arab countries to select animals and jockeys. Camel meat is sometimes available for food here, but mostly it is exported frozen. When you ride a camel the most amazing part is as the animal rises to full height and later kneels down.
DeleteAmazing photo! It looks beautiful there. Have fun!
