Arrived in Russia today - first visit to the Kuril Island
of Sakhalin. Tomorrow we board Zodiacs for a landing on
the tiny Russian island of Tyuleniy (meaning seal).

This is one place George, my husband would love to visit as he was (well still is) a black belt 2nd dan and would love to visit the Khoda Khan in Tokyo. We are hoping to do this in a few years time. So it is really lovely to be able to enjoy your photographs.

We spent a lovely day in Aomori a couple of years ago. We got off the ship very early and wandered through town, watching all the before-opening activities of shopkeepers. We had the same wonderful Taiko welcome.
