. . . . . . . . . we must make adjustments
Dahlias brightening the kitchen window
Searching for healthy beet recipes
Hunting for new yarns for knitting projects
Awaiting cozy sweater days
Making the most of staying home (I wish this was my room!)
Soups, wonderful soups.
Making many these days. . . . . .
Breakfast nook - green grass germinating in the back garden again, yay!
No time to write much - just pictures today.
We seem to be so busy this week.
Autumn is lovely when the sun shines and the days are
cooler. . . . . and we have plenty to do at home!
What a beautiful place to enjoy life from... and that sunrise!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is when coziness returns and I love that. I wasn't much of a soup maker but I'm slowly converting. Most soups are easy to make which is always a bonus.
ReplyDeleteYou will find so many soups really quick and easy to make Loree - I usually have one cooking at least every other day as Bob is a great soup lover. Of course all mine are vegetarian!
DeleteLove your breakfast nook, it looks really welcoming. How strange, your pumpkin and coconut recipe is almost the same as mine.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your hand must be healing dear and you can manage the keyboard. I love soups with winter veggies especially - and coconut milk has become a pantry staple.
DeleteLovely post Mary. Very busy here trying to house whisper our new home. Painting all of the walls, buying new furniture. I did take a day to spend at the beach with my sisters - social distancing of course!
ReplyDeleteYes, that sunset!! It looks almost unreal.....have you been out painting the sky Mary?
ReplyDeleteDelicious soup, so much part of a Winter diet.
Beautiful photos! I'm making soup right now - potato leek soup. It's simmering on the stove and smells so good. I love your breakfast nook. Perfect place for a cup of tea or coffee as you gaze out the window.
ReplyDeleteDearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteLovely post and yes, this is really a time for cozy times at home over a hearty soup or a cup of coffee/tea with some home baked treat.
Your Dahlias are so full and rich in color, excellent being arranged in your heavy crystal vase!
Also the sunrise from your upstairs window is special. We miss that as we are surrounded by very tall trees... Not much of sky visible.
Did reply to your 'plus fours' mention in your comment...
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi Mary...what a gorgeous post. Loved it all. And your breakfast nook is so pretty. I hope you are enjoying the fall. We are having lots of rain right now but better than snow. :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Mary,
ReplyDeleteI love just pictures. And yours are always extra special. The variety of subjects keeps the mind busy. It's wonderful to be entertained by your photos.
The sunrise was beautiful! You didn't need many words to say a lot. It looks beautiful beyond your windows.
ReplyDeleteOh the sunset! Sweater weather has arrived here already, with a little light frost this morning. The Roasted Vegetable cookbook looks wonderful. And we love soups, here, too. We're all adjusting all the time, it seems.
ReplyDeleteOops, I meant sunrise!
ReplyDeleteLove those sweater colours!
ReplyDeleteThe room you say you wish it was yours - I thought it WAS one of yours, it doesn't look all that different, does it?
Yes, soup weather!
We're all having to make some adjustments to our lives these days. Soup will be a popular comfort food for many of us.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the hot weather has gone at last, and you can enjoy the delights of Autumn. Such lovely colours, pretty sweaters and the dahlias are gorgeous. What a stunning sunrise too. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mary :) Oh it's definitely soup weather, I love it! Your dahlias are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteA lovely array of pictures, Mary. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunrise! I love your breakfast nook and those soups look delicious. I'm a bit of a soup nut — homemade soups are always the best.
Enjoy your upcoming weekend ~ hugs, Serena xo
Love seeing your beautiful shares. Digging those sweater colors, so pretty! Can't wait to see what knitting project you'll be working on. Miss you! xx
ReplyDeleteCome back Vanessa - I would love to have you living here again!
DeleteJust completed a double length cowl/infinity scarf for Jasmin - black with a very fine silver thread - she saw the yarn and loved it so I told her I'd knit it for her birthday. Just finished it yesterday and her birthday is tomorrow!!!!
Mary x
Love your photos, especially that breakfast nook! Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLove the view out your window.
ReplyDeleteCozy sweaters being worn here. It is suppose to get down to the low 30's tonight and I wore my winter coat and a hat today when I went walking. Made taco soup last night.
What a gorgeous sunrise and the dahlias are amazing!
