Oh deer!!!!
This sweet faced doe (I think) was resting quietly in the back garden
when I opened the kitchen window blinds early yesterday morning.
She must have had breakfast as the hosta leaves were decimated, the
climbing roses nibbled, she looked very comfortable and relaxed. . . .and
didn't hurry off.
Look at those eyelashes - I want them!
Thatcher Rock, Torquay, Devon. . . . . . . .I'm on my way home!
Many thanks for all the kind wishes left on my last post wishing me
a great trip home to see my family and friends after waiting so long.
I'm sure you are winging your way across the Atlantic to your homeland. Have a most wonderful trip, dear Mary!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful creature, appreciating your beautiful garden just as much as you do - but for different reasons :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, that deer is so beautiful. You should pay her to stay and pose in your garden as a work of living sculpture. Beautiful Torquay - happy travels dear Mary. xoxox
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary ..... what a lovely surprise to greet you when you opened the blinds .... beautiful animal and lovely photographs. Safe and happy travels and enjoy every minute. XXXX
ReplyDeleteDearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteWhat a dream and that in your own back yard!
We spotted a doe only once across from our bay window but it was almost dark so not such great photos as yours!
You are spot on about those eye lashes and the big eyes... WOW!
By now you no doubt have arrived and pretty well settled in. Hoping all went well but yeah, England like the Netherlands is very welcoming; contrary to the USA—for our own returning home. Sad fact...
Walked in nature this morning for 3.8 mi and enjoyed, uhm indulged in the natural beauty of wildflowers and such! Wish I had that always... only 19°C but still had a wet back, under my down jacket that is. Changed and felt great, with a good appetite for lunch.
Yesterday I made the appointment for Thursday the 16th = day 11 (not possible before!) and hope to get away with the needed letter! My friend will drive me there as it is one hour away and we can have lunch with another friend as an added bonus.
We have to keep things positive... 😏
ENJOY your time 'home' with Bob!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mary, Don't be surprised if you Doe has a new Fawn by the time you get back. Bom Voyage.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful deer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful creature! Though naughty for eating your plants. Safe travels to you and Bob!
ReplyDeleteSending best wishes for a tremendous trip home and then a return to your home here with your garden still intact. Hoping that sweet deer leaves you some plants.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! So cute and I also want that eyelashes :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely journey now...

Deer wrecked my roses last year! So although I want to say ‘Ahhh’, I do curse them at the same time! I hope that you have a wonderful time in a wonderful part of Devon!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. The deer are so sweet but they are eating all of my hard work too! Can't wait to see your pictures of home. xo Elizabeth Pineconesandacorns
