Fall colors and packing -

Time is going quickly and I still have so much to attend to prior to flying
away to New England for an Autumn break.

The pots of tri-colored chrysanthemums have been lovely all week - a bargain
at LIDL 2/$12.00. Hoping they will remain pretty until I return to deadhead
and encourage even more blooms for a while longer.

Yesterday Bob mowed the grass. Later I steadied the ladder while he
cleared off the roof over the front porch where many twigs had been
 deposited by Hurricane Ian.
We are always very careful when working with ladders of course!

This is all I have time for today. Picking and packing clothes for a cooler
region of the east coast has to be done. We have enjoyed beautiful
warm weather here all week but on checking New Hampshire, Vermont
and Maine it's already much cooler!

Hoping your Autumn weekend is fun and colorful.

  1. Kent and I escaped Naples on October 2nd after Ian, and headed to the mountains of Georgia. Todays weather high of 68 and low 48. Very different that Florida!

  3. Oddly enough, my sister and family are returning home after a trip to South Carolina where it has been lovely and warm. They're in for a shock up heah.

Happy packing, plans, and traveling! The colors are certainly gorgeous.

  4. Dearest Mary,
Yes, we have had such lovely sunny days this week and we rolled our bikes on Wednesday and Thursday and today again.
Yes, you better pack warmer clothes for the north east—here it still feels like summer but not there!
Your mums are perfect and what a joy to have them covered in blooms.
    Enjoy your trip.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  7. The shape and colours of the chrysanthemums are very special, and growing in the large pot is better than cutting them and putting the stems in water.

  8. It was sunny and very colourful here, and we made the most of the time we had between hospital visits and other committments. Happy packing and safe travels!

  9. Wishing you both a lovely break in New England. What a wonderful time to go ...... aren't the Autumnal colours amazing in New England ? Sorry for my absence Mary ..... the building works seem to fill up my day , clearing up after the builders, making them copious amounts of tea and coffee and researching all the flooring, light fittings etc !! Your chrysanthemums are so pretty and so autumnal ..... we always call them 'mums' as you know. Happy travelling. XXXX
