A few words about wall murals. . . . . . . . . .

Here's a follow up to my previous post about the new bold wallpapers
used to make a feature wall in a room.
If you like wallpaper, or even if you don't, perhaps a mural
will get you excited. I found the first two at Anthropologie and love them.
The enlarged antique maps of Paris and London, each one used to cover
a wall, are available at Restoration Maps and are really amazing.
Again, I have no walls here in the cottage where these large
installations could fit - but I know some people who do!

I did find something new for a wall over the weekend - but it found
a home some place else! I'll show you next time.
Have a wonderful week.

  1. If I had a spare wall I would love a map of Paris for sure. They are beautiful!

  2. I like the idea of the map but it might have to be on a huge wall or it would be too busy ... I think the Eiffel Tower is brilliant .. this is so fun, the ideas you can come up with for your own special wall . I will remember this for my new home to be ...

  3. I know someone with a wall covered in a map of London - an appartment actually in London, and I must admit that with their style and flair it does look stunning.

  4. Very interesting. I remember the wall murals from the 70s and 80s - we put one in my husband's office - really changes a room. We have no space for one now.

  5. I would love a wall map of Paris on my wall. Alas, I don't have the space for it either. Looking forward to seeing what you did find.

  6. I really enjoy maps, though I'd not want a map of Paris. Guess that I'd get out the handy projector and draw it directly on the wall. I look forward to seeing what you do with your project.

  7. I saw just such a map of Paris on a restaurant wall recently. It is certainly a conversation piece!

  8. Ooh, I so love those, especially the marvelous London one! As we rent, I don't think our landlord would be too pleased but how wonderful would that be to feel like you could walk into a scene right under the Eiffel Tower or such. Great photos. Thanks for showing us those pages.
