Well there's not a drop of rain in the city today, the sun is shining and the mountains are clearly visible across the water from Paula's windows here high up on the hillside. The airship is mechanically sound, the tickets are purchased, we are ready to fly!
Today was to be 'the big day' circled in red on the calendar. The much awaited flight over the Bay area on the Zeppelin airship, Eureka. Paula, Bob, and I were excited, especially as we couldn't do it when last scheduled in the Fall due to a last minute engine problem in the airship. There are just three Zeppelins in the world, one in Germany, one in Japan, and this one based in California.............and it looks like we'll have to wait again before gracefully flying quietly over San Francisco and capturing those special photos to share. Tomorrow we fly to Hawaii as planned.
Oh yes, why are we not going today? Well I'm glad you can't see our long faces and hear our disgruntled sighs......................Mr. President has decided to come to San Francisco this afternoon for a
Oh, you poor thing! I saw a tv programme recently that featured the German Zeplin.
ReplyDeleteI know it will be 3rd time lucky and what a treat to look forward to.
Have an amazing time in Hawaii Mary.

You are all so brave! I just don't think I could do this. Not to say I am not looking forward to your pictures! When you embark on your latest adventure, I wish you a fun and safe time!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
GRRRR! That would be extremely aggravating. Enjoy your Hawaiian vacay!
ReplyDeleteOh no, that's really too bad. He was down here yesterday...maybe when you return from Hawaii??
ReplyDeleteOh Mary how disappointed you all must be, especially as it was cancelled once before.
ReplyDeleteThose photos would have been 'out of this world'!!
Enjoy your Hawaii sojourn. We've always meant to stop off there on the way to France but somehow we find ourselves on the asian path more often, with stop offs in Europe.

Oh bugger!

We'll still manage to do it, just later this year.
ReplyDeleteHow very cool. Can't wait to hear of your trip. Had no clue about airships.
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing Mary. Mr. President takes precidence I guess. :) Have a great trip to Hawaii! Blessings to you. Pamela
ReplyDeleteHas he no shame.... to ruin your flight? What could possibly be more important? Have a grand time in the Tropics....Jeannette
ReplyDeleteI think Rose said it best, n'est pas?
ReplyDeleteNow that is really maddening! It seems rather unnecessary to me to close the airspace for the President. As far as I know when the Queen flies anywhere she just gets on her plane and goes as does the Prime Minister. Have fun in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteToo bad, but now you can look forward to the flight on your way home. Also too bad about the air space closure, but given the high level of crazy in the country it's understandable.
ReplyDeleteHow sad indeed! That Mr. President! Happy travels in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing! I hope you'll get your flight on the way back.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry your trip was cancelled on the zeppelin!!!! Not crazy about why, either...:-) Well, Hawaii awaits...can't wait to share in that wonderful trip with you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer! Hopefully you will have a chance to do it again.
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Ulrike
