Such a wonderful surprise when I arrived home last Saturday evening.........
the hydrangeas were in full bloom and unexpectedly abundant.
Due to gallons of rainwater, perfect temperatures, and
earlier efforts with fertilizer........
I was welcomed by my garden favorites. Yesterday I
worked outside for a few hours weeding, pruning and
trimming other shrubs......then cutting a bunch of
these beauties to bring into the house for the weekend.

Linking to Claudia's A Favorite Thing Saturday at Mockingbird Hill Cottage. I love how this blog party keeps going. I must admit I was unable to join in whilst on the recent Japan/Russia trip, due to Internet speed/cost when out in remote places in the world, but I'm back now and hope to catch up soon.
They look plumb yummy!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, my goodness Mary what a sight to greet a weary traveller! The attention you've paid them has served dividends, I don't think I've seen quite so many wonderful blooms :o)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, hope you spied some bargains at Suzannes ;o)
Have a wonderful weekend.

What a pretty treat to come home to Mary.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a warm welcome! Your hydrangeas look beautiful against the backdrop of your pretty yellow house.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a great year in the garden so far this season. Nothing like rainfall to give the plants a thorough soaking.
Welcome home, Mary.
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour hydrangeas are so very pretty, as is your front porch and surrounding property! How lucky you are to be living in such a beautiful landscape. It really is picture perfect! Thanks for sharing your idyllic images; they made me smile!

LOVE hydrangeas-- wish I had some!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous greeting home! Not sure if I would ever leave:)
ReplyDeleteI love, love hydrangeas. Mine are just beginning to bloom. What a welcome home for you! That bush is so lush and beautiful. Do they last all summer long, or peter out in the heat? Our temps are cool enough that we have blooms through September, although the colors deepen and change later on.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mary! We have hydrangea bushes at our new home! But....they had been neglected for two years. I trimmed them back this spring ( a little late, I think). They are blooming now, but the flowers are small and the leaves are not as green or lush as yours. I guess I need to do a little research on how to take care of them.

How beautiful your hydrangeas are! We have always lived in the desert - too hot for the pretty H. But, now we live in the mountains. I wonder if it is still too hot? Do they like some shade - afternoon shade?
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful greeting. I love hydrangeas and your flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour garden grows beautiful hydrangeas. I'm envious! ;-) I have to get my hydrangeas at the flower market.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. We've missed you! ~ Sarah
