Vienna has the oldest ferris wheel in the world! Weiner Reisenrad located in Prater Park 65m high, opened in 1897.
This is just a glimpse of lovely Vienna. This visit included visiting the Vienna Woods.
I'll share more when home again with more time and better Internet on board!

This is 'social housing' in Vienna!!!
Talk about arty apartments - more later.
Beautiful city and photos, Mary. That sure is an old ferris wheel! You must be having a fabulous time. Take care and enjoy! Hugs. Pam
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Vienna, that is for sure!

Stunning pictures, Mary! I'm wondering if the Ferris wheel is still in operation?

So glad to see these glimpses of the sights you're experiencing. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this little mini remembrance of beautiful Vienna! My favorite city in the world, love it because it is still utterly civilized..
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read more about this amazing trip. Even if I've been already in some of these places, it's always interesting to hear someone else point of view...
ReplyDeleteSocial housing...sounds interesting! Can't wait to hear and see more. Love these virtual travels with you.
ReplyDeleteI showed the embroidery girls your blog posts yesterday and Rose said she would love to visit Vienna and waltz in one of the grand halls - a dream of a lifetime - did you and Bob waltz in Vienna dear Mary?!!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your river cruise through your eyes - and what sights those eyes have seen!
Are you using your computer or iPad for these posts????
Shane x
Shane dear - no iPad for blogging, have never been able to manage it for blogging and posting photos. I use my MacBook Air all the time - I love it and will never be without it, especially when traveling.
DeleteThanks for your kind comments - I'm unable to do any commenting right now as the Internet is somewhat sporadic as we sail through these small German towns, plus sailing with 11 friends we are very busy! We're in Regensburg now, lovely town, but high water levels on the Danube have us unable to pass under some bridges today so we may have to be bussed to Nuremburg tomorrow for sightseeing etc.
Hugs - Mary
Thank you Mary dear - appreciate your advice!

ReplyDeleteThese scenes are fabulous! I won't ever be able to see them in person (too scary to travel to Europe by myself), so your photos are the next best thing!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous! Vienna is high on my dream list and I didn't even know it had a ferris wheel.
