What to do following a lightning strike while awaiting the cable guy and
telephone repairman. . . . . . . because no matter what, you know if they are
scheduled between 8 AM and 6 PM, they will always come later in the day!
With our television fried, our land line phone killed, and the Internet
zapped, I had time Wednesday to bake, yum!
A fresh raspberry buttermilk cake and lemon zucchini muffins to
share with my neighbors. . . . .and for us to enjoy during our downtime.
Off soon to buy a new TV and phone, grrrrrrrrrrr!
When the going gets tough, the tough bake. Sure looks good and I hope that coffee or tea was involved, too.
ReplyDeleteNever met a cake or muffin I didn't like and yours' looks delicious. Sorry about the appliances. I am so glad there was no fire as lightning often causes them.
ReplyDeleteI somehow missed your post on the lightning strike. That is scary stuff and a bit too common in NC. Our next door neighbors have had their house struck twice.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you made the best of the situation and I'm sure your neighbors were most appreciative.
The collage you created is so pretty. Made me want to reach in there and grab one of those delicious looking muffins to accompany my cup of coffee :).
Both recipes sound wonderful! Can you share them?

Hi dear Penny - here's the recipe for the raspberry cake again - it's already on my Tasty Tuesday (your blog party) post back in 2014! It is a lovely little versatile cake - and very easy to put together.

Will get you the muffin recipe later - so much to do right now with our trip time almost here and so many hitches here at home due to weather and family issues!
Mary -
I now have it pinned from your blog on my "Sweets" board on Pinterest.
DeleteYummy! Baking can take ones mind off things for sure and the lack of tv, phone and computer makes one realize how much time we spend (waste) on them. I hope all will be back to normal soon. Enjoy the weekend. xx Pam
ReplyDeleteMary, all I could think of when I came to your blog this afternoon was....um, when are we going to visit you for tea and cake?! lol I also LOVE the "cake talk"...don't suppose I could get my hands on that somewhere? :D Thank you for always inspiring us and always making us a tad more hungry for sweets! hee hee
