This week I have learned of the sudden deaths of several people.
One is in my own family across the pond, my sister-in-law's mother, Audrey,
a gentle and lovely lady whom I was fortunate enough to spend time with on
several visits home to England over the years.
Others are family members of blog friends. . . . . . . . all of whom I hold dear,
and I am thinking of them all this morning.
The tiny Carolina wren on the front porch this bright Spring morning.
Grief never ends. . . . . . but it changes.
It is a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. . . . . .
It is the price of love.

I am sorry for the losses. The grief quote rings especially true.
ReplyDeleteGrief is a heavy burden .. there are days in early grieving that you think you can't move, you haven't the strength to lift a hand ..
ReplyDeleteThat old saying about Time Heals All Wounds is true though..
I never thought I would laugh again or even be cheerful again .. and I was hit with a couple of terrible losses .. and yet, here I am .. almost 4 years later ..
I can laugh and be silly and I don't cry every day .. well, almost ~
What a lovely quote. I am sorry for your losses, having just lost my baby sister last month. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of your loss, Mary. It's certainly a time to reflect. Your photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Mary, as you grieve the losses of people in your life. I'll second Vee's statement about the quote's aptness.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect quote. Sending love and comfort to you, dear one!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO well written and very true, Mary. I love that. one things I learned in a loss class was that you grieve b/c it shows that realtionship truly meant something deep to you that of course you'd mourn the passing if it or that person. It shows jsut how valuable it was.
ReplyDelete"Grief never ends. . . . . . but it changes." so true too. A beautiful post, dear Mary. I fear more mourning, on a wider scale, is coming in the future with the way of the world but we shall see. We truly need to cherish these moments and nothing and no one is assured a tomorrow, regardless of our lot in life.
