. . . . . . and it's not very tasty!
I'm now finding commenting on your blogs has suddenly become a
huge problem - I don't seem to be able post COMMENTS if you are
blogging on the Google+ platform - or whatever they call it out there
in the tech world!
Today I see many of you have the 'prove you're not a ROBOT' thingy
in place now and the clicking of so many blurred pix in those tiny
squares is ridiculous!
What's going on?
Is blogging going to fall by the wayside because keeping up
with our longtime, very special friends, is becoming so
difficult. . . . . . .or even possible?
Any assistance you can give will be great - meanwhile I will
continue to rest my shoulder, grrrrrrr!!!!

I saw on the news yesterday that Google+ will soon be a thing of the past. When they kept doing upgrades, they wanted us to all make the switch. I'm not sure that I did completely although I did what I had to do to make sure I could still blog and comment. Did you have any problem when you commented on my blog today?

OOPS, just gave this a try (the above reply) using Chrome and it worked! Perhaps it's Safari who is misbehaving!

I dont begin to understand it either. I wonder also why so many blogs have 'Read more' after the first few lines. Why?
ReplyDeleteThis feature was introduced so that those readers who read mostly on mobile devices with smaller screens could decide more easily which posts they wish to read in full length, without having to load the entire post first. That saves data volume (which does matter in some mobile contracts) and loading time.
DeleteSome bloggers are not completely aware of the settings of their own blog and might not even know their posts appear like that to the reader.
I found that I had to start using Chrome for many things. Microsoft Edge was not working for me. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteMany bloggers don't even realise they have the "prove you're not a robot" feature activated. I have deliberately chosen not to use it, as I can handle the occasional robotic spam comments very well myself.
ReplyDeleteGoogle+ was never interesting to me. I am happy being "only" on Blogger and nowhere else.
Blogger’s not working exactly perfectly these days...quite a few hitches. I do wish that bloggers would remove the hoops they have purposely put on themselves. It would help.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, Google and Blogger are so difficult to fathom. When I had trouble with comments a few months ago, I went to the Help section and put in a request. No direct reply but eventually someone posted some helpful hints which amounted to going to your Settings, opt out of the area causing trouble, save, then put back in. Seemed to help, but I don't know if you are having trouble with my blog either. All too tricky. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to comment for months now unless the blog accepts anon commenters. Then, the captcha thing makes me click about twenty times on pictures. I refuse to use Chrome as my iPhone and Mac use Safari. It is blogger's fault and they should fix it. Many are having trouble now. Donna@gather
ReplyDeleteI run Chrome and don't have any difficulties. However, I never comment on Google + because it is so exclusive. I'm glad to see it's going away.
