We're off downtown for the First Night celebration.
My kitchen is closed!
No more baking to be done any day soon.
Scoffing rich-tasting leftovers still, especially the mince pies - they go quite
well with a chilled bottle of bubbly awaiting a popping cork and the
clink of crystal at midnight. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . and we'll raise our glasses with a sincere toast to you all. . . . family,
friends and readers.
Who knows what the New Year and new decade will bring, but hopefully
good health and great things for each of us.
~ Love, peace and joy ~
Happy New Year’s Eve! You’re a couple of kids heading off for the festivities. I shall be in my recliner and my goal is to make it to 9 pm. 🎉

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and Bob, dear Mary! Now, if only you could someone teleport those delicious looking mince pies to me! I never got to even have one this xmas, in part b/c no one in my family here likes them, as much as I tried to get them to like mince pies, let alone christmas pudding! But, I'll have you know, my resolve not to "waste" money diminished as I thought about them and how even wasting 4 to have two of half a dozen might be worth it. So, off I dashed to The Cupboard (the kitchen place I took you to when here) where they have various Brit imports but, lo and behold, no mince pies left and not even xmas puddings. Well, my waste line was saved, except I did pick up some dark choc digestives that I've been nibbling on most night, absent mindedly dunking away until Alex so gently and loving notes, "Darling, is that your 4th one? " Hahaha. :) But today, dear fellow ex-pat, is the 1st of January so we jolly well have an excuse to re-connect with our culinary heritage and indulge away! :)
