They fooled us!
Those weather guys sometimes don't know what they're talking about!
Yesterday we nibbled and gobbled all day long to stay warm, expecting to
awake this morning frozen to snow covered branches, only to flap our
chilled wings and head to another suet breakfast in truly brilliant sunshine!
Many friends showed up with the same idea, but when the Northern flicker
arrived we had to wait our turn, after all he's much bigger than us!

So, no snow blowing or shoveling, snow person building, snow angels,
or 'birds in the snow' photos. Thank goodness for the latter you may say,
how many bird photos can she take? Instead we'll be enjoying the sunny,
cold day as we go to get new tires for my car, take a walk while they mount
them - heavy bundled in layers of wool, cashmere with fur-lined boots and
of course our masks - and then back home, light the fire, and settle in
for the evening.

How many? As many as you like! You take such excellent bird pics and these bluebirds are sweeties.
ReplyDeleteThe weatherman missed his mark here in Va. too. I don't mind one way or the other as I stay inside anyway. Maybe it will be warmer in a few days.
ReplyDeleteMary, You can keep taking pictures of birds and/or flowers and posting them to share with us. Those of us that live in the northern part of the country appreciate them and they reminders to keep looking forward.

Beautiful bird photos in the sunshine. Your snowy ones would have been equally so. We had a few moments of glorious bright light flooding into the house this morning, but later the grey took over again. I always hope for a bit of snow, but we are having such a warm winter that it's doubtful.
ReplyDeleteLovely birds! Since I have returned from my 1 1/2 week away at O.K.‘s, the birds have not yer come back to my windowsill for the seeds I put out for them. I hope they will remember and rediscover this little food place.
ReplyDeleteOh, the beauty of those blue birds, and a woodpecker is always fun too. I think I am disappointed there was no snow, as right now I would love the thought of putting on my fur lined boots and going out for a brisk walk in the snow! However, I did go for a walk today, wearing a now mandatory mask! I found it difficult to breath easily when walking at a fast pace - I guess others have known this feeling for the past year. We have been fortunate. Have a beautiful evening in front of the fire. xx

I organize most of my photos into folders. Whenever I have a little extra time I delete those of poor quality. Yet I still have thousands upon thousands of photos.
