It was our second visit to the local sunflower field this summer. The first was a little early as the blooms were only just opening. This time, Monday in the late afternoon, the heavy heads were bowing low, petals shriveling, as we walked the rows with Jasmin taking some photos of us. . . . . .while I took photos of creatures!
Along the outer edge of the 4-5 acre field it was obvious the deer had been busy stuffing their tummies with ripe seeds from the flower heads. Bees were everywhere, grasshoppers were busy also. We saw a very special bird - another post on that later.
Since returning from New England life has been really busy. I need to re-organize my time, my life, to fit everything in. Please know I'm reading your posts every day, and enjoying them as always, just haven't had time to do much commenting. I will share more from the trip north once I have time to work with hundreds of photos I took. It was such a wonderful time away after the months of lockdown. . . . . and those daily kitchen chores!!!
Have a fabulous week everyone.
Wow! This is amazing to see! Thanks for sharing it with me!
ReplyDeleteSome fine pictures there. I've seen a few fields of sunflowers around here lately, but I don't know what they are used for.
ReplyDeleteLovely 'sunny' pictures. Now you have got me wondering what that special bird is.
ReplyDeleteInspirational. Sunflowers are not just beautiful they are useful too, mine are covered in busy insects every day.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing fields of sunflowers, such happy faces.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific photo of you both, dear Mary. You look very well and happy in the Sunflower field. They as so big!! You photos are amazing, as ever, and I love the close-ups of the bugs. Such a sunshiny Summer day. xxx
ReplyDeleteDearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteJasmin did an excellent job in capturing you both very well and looking so happy!
We pass several sunflower fields when we bike, love their sights but it looks different if they turn away from you... Haha, towards the sun of course.
Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteLovely photos ~~~ Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers, but best of all, love the photos of you and Bob! You both look great!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you and Bob, plus the one of just Bob.
ReplyDeleteSunflower fields can be so spectacular. I remember them from driving through Kansas.
Right now we have several in bloom, including one that we measured at 11 feet. We think it is the tallest one we have ever had in our garden.
