Wet Saturday -

I wasn't going to post today as I had a lot to catch up with.
I was so busy yesterday, starting PT for my right leg pain with a nice
therapist named Kenny. . . . . . . .then a trip to the airport to pick up
granddaughter Jasmin, and her boyfriend, who returned from a
five day trip to Alaska for a friend's wedding!
Jasmin was the photographer and I can't wait to see her photos.
From info gleaned from two very tired overnight travelers - with flights
delayed several times, today's norm - the wedding took place
outdoors, on a mountainside, in snow, rain and very cold temperatures!
According to them it was a marvelous adventure . . . . . thoughts of
'roughing it' like that made me feel really old!!!

Today long awaited rain here. Fortunately not too heavy which we hoped
would be the case so it wouldn't wash away the newly sewn grass seed
 now germinating.
Our resident all grown up rabbit - no longer a baby bunny - was busy this
morning. Luckily he chose a breakfast of tender new grass which was
accidentally sewn beyond the lawn perimeter. . . . . . .which works out fine
 for him and us!
Chomp on bunny, it's yours for the nibbling, just stop this side of the bricks please!

  1. Hello to dear Bunny, so attractive in its sleek gray fur. The Alaska wedding does sound a bit too dramatic for me, but I am sure the young ones enjoyed it immensely! xx

    1. It was cold - they hiked to old mines in the mountains, stayed in three different AirBnB's so a lot of moving about for just 5 days, saw bears and moose close-up and hoping today hear more about the trip today! Oh to be young and able to travel like that again!!!!

  3. It must be true love to get married in the open in Alaska. I wish them all happiness and warmer holidays in the future!

    1. Such a kind thought, thanks John. Jasmin and Allie (bride) have been friends since toddlers - it was great that they could be together for the wedding. . . . .but such a long way at a cold time of year for that vast area!

  4. I agree re the wedding. Sounds most uncomfortable but for younger people everything is an adventure!

    1. Yes, everything is easier when one is young. . . . . thankfully we can enjoy sitting quietly more often these later years and enjoy reading about others' adventures in great books Mystica!

  5. We‘ve had the most gorgeous golden autumn weather yesterday, perfect for another walk/hike in woodland and vineyards!
Love the bunny and hope he‘ll be around for a while.
A wedding in snow, rain and ice? Certainly a different kind of celebration, but most certainly not what I would choose :-)

    1. I'm looking forward to photos of the wild terrain they apparently chose for the small wedding! Mountains, rivers, waterfalls and snow!
Glad you enjoyed good autumn weather for the weekend trip Meike.

  6. Dearest Mary,
Well, here it looks promising today and the next couple of days.
But yesterday as Pieter was gathering pots for planting our six new prostrate Rosemary plants that arrived on Friday, he was saying how soggy the lawn is near the greenhouse! What a spring, summer and early fall we got indeed. Too much rain and still not able to carry out the tree cutting, nor the exterior painting of the house.
Your resident bunny looks quite happy and will no doubt love those young tender sprouts.
What a description about the travel and actual wedding time... makes me cringe. So sad though that we've come to such a life without any personal freedom.
Hugs and good luck with your PT.

    1. PT seems to be bringing some relief - I'm doing the exercises at home 3 times daily and will be going to the facility bi-weekly! Time consuming but hopefully will get good results.
Hope your rosemary does well - I have a giant one which I prune often - and that you can address the house projects soon.
Today, people pick strange locations for wedding don't they?

  7. Sweet photos... yours always have a wonderful quality.

Gosh, I hope that wedding day weather is not a metaphor for married life.
Those Alaska folks are tough. I could never live there. I don't even want to visit.
    I'm a marshmallow.

Sweet bunny. May he always be very well behaved.

    1. Thanks for the heads up on the photos Vee - you know how I love taking them, and I still miss the NOTE CARD PARTY you used to host every third Wednesday! That was so much fun.
They aren't Alaska natives - actually from here in NC - but spent a year working there and are moving back here soon! I visited once and admit the scenery was awesome, couldn't live there though, too remote and much too cold in winter. . . . .but Maine would be manageable for me, you know how much I love your state!!!

  9. I would think that the wedding was magical ..... love the bunny photo.... I just took a couple of photographs of a fox, making himself very at home in our garden ! The photos aren't very good as I had to zoom right in but, I might post them in a minute ! Hope the PT is helping. Love the illustrations that accompanied the Rain poem. XXXX

    1. Jackie I love foxes - had them here in the garden with many babies over the years, none this summer though, perhaps because we now have so many deer and coyotes passing through the neighborhood! Please share pix of your garden fox - guessing it's a red fox whereas ours are the grey fox, but actually also have some red too!

  10. We need rain where I live in SC so bad. It has been cloudy for the last two days but no rain is scheduled. The bunny is so cute all grown up! I hope he/she doesn't eat all your new grass. That was a nice trip for your granddaughter and her boyfriend! I'm sure the photos she took of the wedding were gorgeous!

    1. Sherri - we didn't really get a lot - whereas areas not too far off from here were badly flooded! Crazy weather all this year - crazy world too!

  11. That does make me feel old! The thought of a wedding in the freezing conditions makes me feel chilly just thinking about it!
