Visiting a large city one chooses good restaurants where enjoyable
food in a comfortable setting is expected.
Sadly, we must have picked a bad one along the way this time and
I ended up with food poisoning! Bob and I never ordered the same
items and he was fine.
Sunday I felt 'off', Monday very sick, and Tuesday so ill I just
longed to get home. The drive was awful and when we drove
into our driveway I headed straight for the house while Bob
unpacked the car. I drank lots of water, showered and slept for hours.
The scale showed I had lost 6 pounds since leaving home on Friday!
Yesterday I started on the BRAT diet, recommended for getting one's
digestive system back on track - 48 hours of just bananas, rice,
applesauce and dry toast.
no coffee, but a cup of decaf tea.
Still feel weak, tired and fuzzy but hoping another day and I'll
be much better.
New pretty blue bowls - a 4-piece set found at IKEA.
Poor you! I don't think I have ever had food poisoning, but it does not sound nice. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteThose bowls are very pretty, so summerly.
So sorry to hear that, Mary. Hope you will be really well very soon.
ReplyDeleteInteresting diet - I shall beinterested to hear if it works. I am a great believer in bananas for curing all ills.
ReplyDeleteOh how awful! May your BRAT diet settle things down. Sleep all you want!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you got food poisoning! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely set of bowls!
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, I am so sorry to hear about your travel woes. I've only had food poisoning once but it was truly AWFUL! No way I could have traveled anywhere while that was going on! All that to say, you have my sympathy and I'm so glad you are in recovery mode now. Those are some very pretty bowls, and hopefully made the BRAT meal a bit more enjoyable with their beauty.
ReplyDeleteDear Mary - I am so sorry to read this - I had imagined that you would have a wonderful time and return home refreshed. Hope that by now you are feeling much better and back to your old self again. Take care - I shall watch out for those pretty blue bowls next time we visit Ikea.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Mary, I am so sorry! Are you sure it was food poisoning and not the flu or Covid? Whatever it is, I hope you feel better very soon.
ReplyDeleteOH no! I'm so sorry you suffered with food poisoning, Mary. No fun at all!
ReplyDeleteI must write down the combo to get the digestive system back on track.
The bowls are very pretty!
Rest up and feel better soon,
Serena x
Dearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteOf all the misfortune on your behalf, sure glad that it did NOT affect Bob.
At least one of the two was able to drive and stay alert.
My goodness, what a fate to deal with!
One never knows... Hoping you soon nurse yourself back to health with rest and easy food for your digestive system to recover from all this.
My back is not yet pain free, but I feel better. Has to as my trip is around the corner almost...
Hugs,
Mariette
