A wet and chilly Good Friday here...........but everything looks washed clean
in time for Easter Sunday celebrations.
The Mystery of Faith fresco by Ben Long
St. Mary's Episcopal Church, West Jefferson, North Carolina
Thinking of you and wishing you a blessed Good Friday -
praying that the Lord keeps you, your family and
loved ones in his loving care always.
Dearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteIt looked quite threatening here but no rain all day...
Your yard looks SO LUSH!
We need to water but no time so far with all the choir performances (yesterday) and today I did part of the 7 last words of Jesus at noon and at 3:00 PM I was part of the readers.
That's enough for the day.
Wishing you and Bob a Happy Easter and may the rain stop!!!
Hugs,
Mariette
Rain again today and even more lush in the greenery department, haha!!!!! Sadly many azalea blooms now covering the ground.
DeleteLovely knowing you are able to speak/sing again in your church - I pray you are pain-free and continuing to heal.
Happy Easter to you and Pieter.
Thank you and I am doing better—was worn out yesterday and went to bed by 8:30 PM...
DeleteGood Friday blessings to you and Bob, Mary. It's been a day of mixed sunshine and cloud, with some wind. Rain in the forecast for Easter Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLove, Lorrie
Enjoy tomorrow Lorrie - hopefully in sunshine as we are wishing for also!
DeleteWhat a striking and beautiful fresco, dear Mary. I googled Ben Long, and he is a most impressive artist. It is difficult to find contemporary religious art in Australia these days. Blessings to you and your family this Easter. xx
ReplyDeleteTrish - with your knowledge of great art and artists, I'm so glad you took time to 'discover' Ben Long. We are so proud of him, a North Carolina native who has taken time to create many wonderful frescoes across our state. He has such an amazing worldwide backstory full of interest and wonderful paintings.
DeleteMary -
Dear Mary and Bob,
ReplyDeleteMay the joy about the Risen Lord fill your hearts, and peace fill your minds.
Good Friday was a mix of sun and grey clouds with the occasional droplets of rain. It was cold enough to wear a padded coat but warm enough to leave it open.
I love the freshly washed look and feel of my neighbourhood after rainfall!
Thank you Meike.
DeleteA beautiful reminder of the true meaning of Easter. Sending love, Maggie
ReplyDeleteMay the sun shine tomorrow in your garden Maggie and Easter be a beautiful day - for our bonnets and such!
DeleteA cold and grey Easter here...
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely and HAPPY EASTER Mary!
Titti
Hoping the sun makes an effort to peep out tomorrow on Öland Titti - here too as we have a lot of rain coming down again today. Easter blessings to you and your family.
