…………I'm so behind with blogging, both posts and comments, are these……the garden, and also the prom, gazebo teatimes, shopping for a bird bath - mulch - underwear (hm!), dinner engagements, shopping for travel! Here's a few pics I managed to snap from some of the above.
I'll be over to see you soon………
Bob treated me to a foxglove this weekend - I love these flowers which grow wild in the English hedgerows.
Hopefully when I transfer this one to the garden it will return next year.
The Peace rose is blooming.
My kitchen window box attracted a hummingbird this weekend.
It really is this green and everything is growing by leaps and bounds.
The grass will be cut later today when DH gets back from the dentist!
Granddaughter Jasmin with her prom date Adam - who invited her via his pet turtle who was in the glove box of the car with a note stuck on his back saying, "PROM?". Both these great kids sing in their high school chorus so long gowns and bow ties aren't new to them. The prom theme on Saturday night was nautical, "Anchors Aweigh", and they looked spiffy in their navy blues.
The garden is blooming as the temperatures rise.
Mary, I can relate to a busy spring. Glad you are taking time for tea in the gazebo! Jasmin and Adam are a great looking couple. Cute invitation to the prom. Fun to date a clever, witty guy. '-)
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, it's no wonder you've been busy! Great reasons! Beautiful granddaughter and your garden is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteHello Mary,
ReplyDeleteSo, what about the underwear? Now, we can forgive your tardiness......goodness knows we seem to be late for everything these days.....but to promise such a saucy topic and then to disappoint. Well, that is unforgivable!!
Your garden is looking fabulous. The Roses seem to be thriving particularly well.
I wish temperatures would rise here, it's cold and wet today. Your foxglove is lovely, I have a few in the garden, but the lanes are full of them here.
ReplyDeleteAll the flowers are blooming and beautiful there...Jasmin is a beauty for sure and her date sounds like a fun guy. I love the look of foxgloves and remember well the story of digitalis. ; > It's a real lifesaver of a plant, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy lady. Did I see the words 'shopping for travel' in your list? You must be planning another trip. Your flowers are so beautiful and I love the foxglove plant. I hope it will grow well for you. Jasmin is such a beauty. I hope she had a fun prom night. Enjoy your week Mary. Pamela
ReplyDeleteYou are busy! Your garden is looking lovely and Jasmine and her prom date make a gorgeous couple~

I said to my Hubby today that the garden was growing far too quickly this year, and it seems that in your part of the world the same is happening. I can't keep on top of it all! Your grandaughter and partner both look wonderful and what a great way to ask her to the Prom. My son has his this year, I wonder what he will do? Enjoy your time organising and working in the garden! Have a great week. xx
ReplyDeleteDear Mary, Your garden is beautiful. I love your first photo. Aren't Foxglove amazing? They seldom overwinter in my garden but when they do they are twice as spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that Adam wanted Jasmin to be his prom date.
ReplyDeleteLovely foxgloves - I have lots in the garden as they H's favourite flower.
Don't forget that they are biennial so it is unlikely to flower the second year.
Your garden is looking good, all that warm Southern weather means that your garden is well in advance of ours in the UK. Jasmin has turned into a really beautiful young lady, she looks stunning .
ReplyDeleteThe flowers and garden are looking lovely and Jasmin is a gem. What a pretty girl!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of your granddaughter and her prom date. Gardening takes a lot of effort at this time of year. Enjoy the gardening, don't worry about the blogging.
ReplyDeleteLove Jasmine and her Prom date. You have been busy, but if you get a chance take a look at my post before last. Thank you dear Mary for the beautiful china.
ReplyDeleteOh the flowers are absolutely lovely - and your granddaughter and her date are so charming, what a cute way to be invited to the prom. I just love clever young people.
ReplyDeleteThe foxgloves grow wild here - every roadside and hillside are often covered in them - like flower people marching up and down. They also grow wild in Oregon and Northern California - zillions of them.
Foxglove growing in the hedgerows? Sounds like a fairy tale. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteMary foxgloves are a favorite, however, I have had dreadful luck growing them. I think it may be too hot here. Your granddaughter is lovely. I do hope they had a grand time. Enjoy your week. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful your granddaughter looks! Prom time is magical, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIn all the blog posts I've missed I'm wondering if I've missed news of another voyage.........
You have a very beautiful garden!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is so pretty! Also, looking forward to hearing about your travel plans; I'm behind in reading your blog, so perhaps I missed it. I always enjoy your blog in general, but particularly your travel posts.
