SuzAnna's Antiques in February . . . . . . . . . . .

Hello. It's been a while since I stopped by SuzAnna's Antiques
but I was there this week, giving my granddaughter Jasmin a hug in between
her assisting and serving customers, and also busy dusting ready for a
photoshoot for the North Carolina magazine 'OUR STATE' on the
following day. The article will be in an upcoming edition and I just know
mom and daughter owners, Susie and Jenny, must be excited.
We have a subscription to this excellent publication and look forward
to seeing our good friends in print.

Winter has a way of keeping me snug at home just looking at my own
old stuff vintage treasures, repositioning, organizing, setting up in vignettes,
and then thinking I should get rid of stuff. . . . . . so I can treasure hunt for
more new old things, haha!
You who love the treasure hunting game know what I mean.
Here are a few things few caught my eye.

Hopefully Springtime will get me in the mood for some treasure hunting and new places.
As you've probably noticed, not much travel has been happening lately,
however we hope to be doing some in the upcoming months.

. . . . . and a little REMINDER to myself. . . . . .before traveling again, I must write posts
on several more fabulous places I visited in France last September/October.

  1. What a fantastic place to spend time perusing those beautiful vintage treasures . I'd be there all afternoon. Did you buy anything ?

  2. Oh, I'd love to have that bird tray and white chair and the lace in the hoop was so beautiful.

  3. Dear Mary, Run, do not walk. That black hat is a true Panama Hat. They should hire you to take the photos for the magazine. Perfect lighting for an inside room...not so easy to accomplish.

  4. Well our tastes change and we must downsize, but then get new things that we love. I saw a few things in your photos I would love. Been feeling the pull to go look at my favorite place too. New travels, how exciting. I will look forward to hearing where you are going and when. I am busy planning our next adventure in May.

  5. An hour - just one hour, please, at SuzAnna's. I would be happy with that - really. I can look quickly.....how I wish we had a place like that near here!

    1. Yes, when I saw the burlap squirrel JoAnn I though 'wow no matter where I go there are squirrels in my life'!!! This morning there are so many of the non-burlap type dashing about in the sunshine!

  8. I, too, saw that unique "cheese server" when I was last at SuzAnna's! What an interesting and beautiful piece. Would be so fun to display at a party, huh? I hope you and Grandpa are doing well -- I heard that you both will be enjoying a birthday lunch with Mom next week, how lovely! xx

    1. If I didn't already have one large cheese server which takes up so much space, I'd be ready to grab this one - actually I could try to make room for it perhaps!!! It's a good buy.

  9. I have missed seeing your posts on SuzAnna's shop. I would absolutely go nuts there, Mary! I love that Jasmine works there, that is a sure sign that she is so much like you.

I look forward to paring down at the lakehouse when our things are brought back out of storage. Small items and pieces as well as some larger pieces of artwork that won't look well with some new furniture we want to purchase. So much is from 24 years ago and we truly needed a reason to update. It will be time consuming to shop and replace and to sell or donate other things. Very daunting but exciting.

    Sending love,

    Jane

  11. Mary, love this! Not too awful long ago there was a sale in Hillsborough at Daniel Boone Village -- I think it was part of a Rusted Roots show. Anyway, Suzanna's was represented. I have a little shop in Daniel Boone Village now. Sidetracked. In the little red caboose.

  13. Pretty things seem to abound in this store. Those rhinestone brooches remind me of the ones my grandma used to wear and which probably got thrown away.

  14. Lots of lovely things there to entice. Hope that the photo shoot goes beautifully, but I doubt that they'll do a better job than you have.

  16. Oh, now I want to travel somewhere that has antique and vintage shops. Wait! I think we're planning to do that this next week. LOL So many beautiful things in SuzAnna's shop. My favorites are the elaborate white chest of drawers and the blue and white pieces. Scrumptious! xo

  17. I like it when you go there and show up your latest finds. It is definitely a store both Alex and I would enjoy. Haha, I had to smile at your squirrel comment above, btw. :)
