My SCRIBBLE PICNIC post was completed several days ago. . . . . . . . and
then somehow I accidentally deleted it and couldn't get it back.
Have you ever done that? So frustrating.
Anyway, here I've worked on it again but my time is limited as I'm
in the midst of a very busy week prior to leaving town on a
little pre-birthday road trip.
Just know that I continue to be grateful for dear Michael
bringing us together in this lovely group, and I hope those of you we
haven't heard from in a while will soon return. Also, we would love
new friends to join us here at SCRIBBLE PICNIC - here are Michael's
instructions for joining in - we would welcome you with open arms.
My photo, edited to a b/w sketch with color added back using watercolor pencils.

Kununurra, East Kimberley, Western Australia.
Former 1880's home of the Durack family, a prominent immigrant pastoral
family from Galway, Ireland, this was a very interesting stop during my amazing
adventure to Western Australia in 2012.
Stop by SCRIBBLE PICNIC today, we would love you to join us and, as we
are now bi-weekly, you have plenty of time to enjoy working on your
piece for next time. Hope to see you soon.
Ooh, I love reading your adventures, Mary, Western Australia is somewhere not as many tourists visit. What was your favourite bit? Did you like Perth? Amazing that there are that many people all the way over there! Anyway, I want to see these bottles in person now and walk through that amazing sounding museum. A great Bottle entry indeed. Thank you so much and for the write up! Oh, and btw, I don't know what I was thinking when writing up the blog post at midnight last night, but meant to make the prompt, "Double!" So, now you have a choice between that or "Jolt." Perhaps you won't have to rack your brain quite as hard? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary!! :) Your artwork is lovely! :) Oh, yes...I've deleted things before, in fact in September, I had a very extensive list of ghosts and I'd written out all of the ghost stories to go with them (for my Ghostober)...then promptly deleted it and somehow emptied my recycle bin lol...I was able to remember most of them and rewrite it all out, but what a pain!!! Happy early birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to reiterate both Michael and Rain. I do so love hearing about your travels and learning things through your posts and art. And I'm wishing you a very happy birthday. And yes, I have deleted things before and share in your frustration. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteI like antique bottles. I like the effect you put on the photo.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Very, very cool. I love this.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Australia is on my bucket list, I am so envious. And you went to the west side, how awesome. I am hoping that I will make it there in another year (at my age one can't postpone too long). I love antique bottles. Have had a number of them over the years, but sold most of them with this last move. Love your picture ... you do a great job with your edits. Sorry you lost the final ... have I done that? Oh yes, more than once ... just a momentary brain fart and a tap on the wrong button, does it every time ... good recovery by you though. Till next time ...

Great editing once again. I do love bottles in windows, and the way the light shines through them. Happy pre-birthday getaway!
ReplyDeleteI saw that post come up in my feed and went to check it out but it said the page was no longer available...too bad it was accidentally deleted. The bottles are lovely in those pastel tones.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never been to Western Australia but I have family members who have lived there. I hear it’s beautiful.
I hope you enjoy your pre-birthday road trip. I will wish you Happy Birthday now in case I miss it later. xo
Oh yes, so we just start again!
ReplyDeleteMy post was about old bottles also, though not from Australia!
Happy birthday, Mary!
