A damp morning here but sunny days on the way.
~ Music for NOW ~
Think of it as calming, not sad. Beautiful voices and lovely faces,
We all need calm to get through this tough time.
We all need calm to get through this tough time.
Agnus Dei - Samuel Barber (1910-1981)
Papa finch keeping watch. . . . . .
. . . . . . whilst Mama finch builds her nest.
They take breaks together in the now budding fig tree.
Oblivious to what we humans are facing, they make a home for a
new family and the future.
The flowers still bloom. . . . . . .
. . . . . the buds still burst forth on the hickory tree outside the bedroom window. . . . . .
. . . . . .even the wisteria is opening and that makes me happy.
Please keep blogging, it's such a great way to keep in touch at this difficult time.
Each morning I'm sure you, like us, get up hoping
things are better. . . . . . . they are not, YET! They will be though if we
really try to follow the rules and regulations, and by now unless living under
a rock, we know what they are.
Meanwhile we carry on best we can, remembering all the brave people
on the front lines working in every country, saving lives and trying to find
a way to stop this virus.
I'm off now to work on new posts for the days to come.
I will try to make the content cheery and positive.
I am planning a giveaway soon so watch for that.
Also a fashion post perhaps, after all, once we're able to get outside,
meet up with family and friends, go to our favorite restaurants,
even just to go shopping again, we will be ready to wear something
bright and 'springy'.
Anyone tired of track pants and sweatshirts yet?
I, too, am appreciating the beauty of springtime during these unusual times we are in. New life springing forth in nature is reassuring as life as we knew it is changing so quickly. I'm trying hard not to go down the track pant/sweatshirt route. Although, I think we all deserve a nice new outfit when this is behind us.
ReplyDeleteMr. and Mrs. Finch are so sweet, and I hope they will soon raise their little ones, not bothered by nightly frosts or too much rain.
ReplyDeleteIt's been very cold here at night; sadly, the beautiful Magnolia trees in my street have suffered, the blossoms look "rusty" at the top where they have taken the brunt of the frosty nights. But the sun has been out every day here except for last Saturday, and I am fitting walks around my working hours when I can.
If you are not in a positive mood, don't force yourself to write cheerful and positive posts, dear Mary; just be yourself, and if you need to let off steam or talk about what worries you, your readers will be there for you, too. It's the least we can all do for each other!
Beautiful photos. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting here Mary. You always brighten my day. I will have a new blog post up tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteDear Mary,
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful bird photos.
Good evening! I love seeing your beautiful birds! I have been filling my feeders to the brim so that the birds came to visit all day long. It is nice to see them outside while stuck inside. Thank you for the positive messages and photos, we are all in this together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Your photos of the finches are great to see, I also love to watch the birds which come to feed outside. This could be the most closely observed, and least interfered with, spring for the last hundred years or so! Stay safe and take care.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, what a lovely and uplifting post. Yes, nature always provides the beauty and serenity, and they know nothing of what we face. Those finches are adorable. Now our house guests have gone home, I am trying to develop an action plan for the duration - how long? who knows? We are in isolation. I will take your suggestion on board, and try to blog much more to keep in touch. All my usual daily activities have been cancelled, and new ways of connection need to be developed. Your daffodils are so cheery, one of my absolute favourite flowers. xxxx
ReplyDeleteTHE BIRDS ARE BUSY HERE TOO!THEY DO MAKE US SMILE!
ReplyDeleteI have an AGELESS STYLE POST that might be of interest as I am featuring a couple from ENGLAND this week!
Beautiful photos from a SOUTH AFRICAN photographer who won second place this year in the UK!
BE WELL............
I am very much enjoying the increased posting I see from many bloggers. Your bird photos are always so lovely.
