We made the best of today.
No big restaurant dinner - but Thai takeout in the gazebo
for lunch was delicious in the sunshine.
A bottle of Prosecco.
Flowers cut from my own garden.
A card to me and a card from me.
A lot of memories to chat about.
Plenty of work inside and out to keep us busy.
For some reason I feel busier than ever!
Always confounded me why everyone was always rushing around like crazy, working long hours, barely spending time at home when home sweet home is the best place to be. Why have a big mortgage you can't afford if all you are doing is using home as a place to sleep after running the rat race? I sure hope folks learn valuable lessons from this pandemic. Happy Anniversary! 55 years is definitely something to celebrate and having a beautiful garden to spend time in is a wonderful thing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteTammy I hope all is well with you and the family. Haven't heard much regarding your area and the corona virus!
DeleteYou are so right, lessons will definitely be learned from this terrible time - let's just hope people don't have short memories and return to that hapless way of life.
Yes, I'm blessed to have the garden, it's really pleasant right now, even the overgrown bits!
My kind of Lunch. Bob, you and the flag are wearing the same colors.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Gina! He certainly didn't dress up for anniversary day - stayed busy outside as it was such a lovely warm day.
DeleteHappy anniversary! Your celebration meal outdoors sounds perfect. I am drooling over your photos with the sunshine and everything blooming. It is so depressing-looking here...we've barely had any sun and the trees are still all bare. I'm looking out my living room window now and it's pouring rain and everything is brown and gray. I was talking to my son in CA on the phone yesterday and he said the looong winters here are the main reason he doesn't want to move back home. I don't blame him one bit.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary you two! Thai sounds good!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary. It sounds like you both had a delightful day.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be celebrating Tim's birthday today in much the same way, quietly, mostly at home although we plan to go for a drive to see the ocean and have a car picnic, and takeout for dinner. Congratulations Mary and Bob on your anniversary. Long marriages are a testament to fortitude and love. Enjoy your garden!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 55 years together! That's truly wonderful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to two of my favourite people in The States - your montage of the garden is so colourful and really pretty. Glad you had a lovely meal in the gazebo all of which was accompanied by the sun shinning down.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! We must make our own celebrations in this world right now and your day sounds special in small and special ways.
ReplyDeleteA rather belated "Happy Anniversary" to both of you. Being busy is one of life's underrated pleasures, especially when you're doing it through your own choice.
ReplyDeleteOh how perfect that you honored such an important anniversary. A belated Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh 55th! Happy happy to you both!!! :)
