It was quite a memorable weekend around here.
Saturday morning started like this.
Fog thick as pea soup.
First dogwood blooms opening.
Chilly and damp when I stepped out early
to take these photos.
Muffled sounds in the distance of the
Saturday traffic going who knows where.
Birds, such as this male Eastern bluebird, seeking an
early breakfast - love the washed out colors of
damp feathers through the fog.
More later on how the day progressed.
I'm behind because we were without any power
for seven hours later that day!!!
Your fog and dogwood pictures are stunning Mary! Looking forward to hearing the rest of the story. xo
ReplyDeleteNo power for seven hours sounds stressful!
ReplyDeleteThe fog pictures are beautiful.
Dearest Mary,
ReplyDeleteOH NO; power off for seven hours that is no fun...
Your dogwoods are happy, here they've bloomed now for over a week.
Lucky bird!
Hugs,
Mariette
You are a talented photographer with an eye for tones and colour values. I liked the first shot especially - and the blue bird one too. That's a nice painted shed / garden house - at least that's what I think it is.
ReplyDeleteYour misty morning adds a beautiful ethereal quality to the dogwood flowers, but the small Eastern bluebird doesn't look a very happy chappy.
ReplyDeleteLove the dogwood and fog photos. I could see that first one printed on canvas or matted and framed! Sorry to hear you were without power for seven hours though. Hope you didn't have to throw out any food in your refrigerator. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteStunning photos...very atmospheric. In a perfect world, you would have spent the day in cozy pursuits like reading or baking...with no power, I have my doubts.
ReplyDeleteHow eerily beautiful is fog - I love the occasional foggy morning. The dogwood are beautiful, as is the bluebird, but it looks a bit worried about it all :) xx
ReplyDeleteDear Mary,
ReplyDeleteI love your little house with fog surrounding it. The blooming dogwood add to the mystery of it all.
love, love, love the dogwood branches in full bloom in the fog! Beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou really capture the feeling of the fog; it does seem as Gina says a mysterious juxtaposition with the newly opened dogwood. But it would take the chill off the fog for me to see those blooms!
ReplyDeleteThe dogwood in the fog is beautiful! Mysterious and compelling. Your garden shed is pretty in the fog, too.
