New Year's Day 2021 -

New Year's Eve - we managed to stay up until midnight, pop a cork
and toast each other, family, friends and the hope of better days,
weeks and months ahead.

New Year's Day started with a healthy breakfast.

Garden birds, especially House sparrows are very busy this morning eating
at the feeders, then resting for a while on the bench.
It's cool, grey and dreary, and more rain coming later.
Planning to take indoor the decorations down today so must away
 and get busy.

Hope you enjoyed your New Year's Evening. . . . and
today will be a good one.

Sparrows arrive. . . . . . . .

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing
in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance
that I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.
-----------David Henry Thoreau

Morning in the late November garden.
Sunshine . . . . . . . and eight sparrows swimming!
