 Specifically our own jewelry.

Do you wear jewelry?

Gold, silver, platinum?

What do you gravitate toward, the four most precious stones - diamonds, 

emeralds, sapphires and rubies, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, or just

 sleek beautifully crafted metals devoid of glittering gems and 

other embellishments?

Do you wear large items such as pendants, cuffs and pins.

 Bold earrings dangling close to your shoulders, or classic studs?

The latter, not quite statement making but always neat and tidy,
and as my mother would have said, ladylike!

my mother.

 How about one of my favorites, the ring.

Besides the ring or rings worn on the left hand,

what other rings do you enjoy wearing for fun?

My personal favorites are usually in silver, although my wedding

 and diamond engagement rings are gold.  

I always wear one, sometimes two, silver rings on my right hand and

 have a fun collection including plain sterling ones made by a friend,

 a heavy silver one with a beautiful pearl from a Barcelona jewelry designer

 whom I met and purchased from on a Baltic cruise on the Queen Victoria,

 and several others.

My most-loved ring is the Queen Victoria 'seal' (center above) which

 belonged to my mother. It was given to her by Sir Winston Churchill's
second daughter Sarah when they served together in the Royal Air Force
 during WWII.

Why am I playing with my jewelry?  I'm thinking about what to pack

 when I travel in May.

Over the past year I've downsized and dispensed with some of my

costume jewelry. Some had tarnished or looked tacky, and I knew I would

 never wear it again. I kept my precious, to me, and more valuable pieces,

 and a few of my inexpensive pieces picked up around the world because

 they bring back fond memories. . . . . . . for instance, the blue and grey

 pendants above were bought in Ushuaia, the southern most city

 in the world - on my way to Antarctica. 

Do you travel with your 'good jewelry' or take inexpensive pieces

in case of loss or even theft?

None of my jewelry is priceless or even very valuable, other

than my diamond which is covered on my insurance policy!

So I admit, I travel with what I love and enjoy wearing.

This upcoming trip I will be downsizing on the clothing I take

so I will also be more likely to take less jewelry. 

In fact I recently bought this at Kohl's. . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . a really small, space saving, travel jewelry case

 (reads 'Little Treasures') which I'm hoping will take just 

the correct amount of glitter!

 OK, this post is all zipped up. Not packing yet but starting to look through

the closet. It won't be really cold, however, being very familiar with
 the climate of our destination, I know it can change very suddenly
  and may be damp!
