Don't try re-decorating.....................

............in a small house............

...............unless you have one of these!

Thank goodness for the potting shed.  It comes in so handy when the need for a storage place is required.

All the stuff from the front porch, plus more stuff from the living room is crammed into my little shed..........................

...........and all will be sorted through before being returned.  Some items may be popping up in the new shop because I'm now truly in the mood to edit, clear out, and simplify!

It's gonna be hard because I love my stuff!  Some precious pieces will of course stay, the remainder moves on...........

These old Moselle green walls are now Bistro White.....loving them (will show you later).....'popcorn' ceiling is history, smooth is better.

...............meanwhile painter Bruce scrapes ceilings, paints walls and brightens up the cottage.  Interior changes almost finished.  House was power washed yesterday, next week the exterior will get two new coats of fresh paint from foundation to roof line. Then flowerbeds will be edged with new timbers, soil will be amended and, fingers crossed, shrubs will start growing back.

Hopefully we'll be looking good again come next Spring!

  5. That's a lot of stuff happening at the same time. Hoping to get our house painted next year. All the interior painting is done for quite some time...hopefully ( it cost a small fortune) and our popcorn ceilings will be here forever. I don't really mind them. Maybe it is a regional thing, but no one has smooth ceilings here unless the house was built before the early 60s. The newer homes from the early 80s on have swirled plaster ceilings and I really don't like that look. Oh well, no one asked me, right?

Lovely fall day here and I think I should go out and at least stake out some bittersweet.

  9. Oh you will enjoy it all fresh and clean and simplified. How fun is that! Now I saw a white stoneware platter in one of the pictures. I am looking for two white stoneware large dinner plates. I see so many platters, but no large plates. Tomorrow I will go searching. There is an open house at one of my favorite antique malls.

  10. I don't have many flat spaces to put out some of the lovely things I inherited so I might use your idea and decorate our shed...lol....Your home will be more beautiful when all the projects are done. My hubby has forbidden me to do a a honeydo list after he put his drill bit through his finger.
