I really have no time to post today however I do want to share pics I took on the run yesterday after pulling together some dining room decor for the holiday season. (Yes, that's me in the old sconce mirror - not the ghost of Christmas past, lol!!!)
I just can't throw out the white and grey-green pumpkins, they are still so lovely, so am using them along with my Nordic-French touches. I shopped for a Madonna figurine on e-Bay, won this one and love it. I've been buying beautiful rosaries at SuzAnna's Antiques, affordable ones, some are beyond my budget, to use decoratively.
When I spied this vintage rusty, chipped, metal tree at SuzAnna's Antiques it had to come home with me, perfect for the look I was hoping to get this year. It just fits in that corner. I was going to skip lights however they do look so pretty at night so twirled a few on.
My usual 'snowflakes' hang in the window - this year I added some mercury glass bells for sparkle. My French rustic linen tablecloth is being used folded as a runner, at night I'll be adding white candles in small fluted vintage baking tins, along with fresh greenery.......when I have time to run out to find some in the frozen garden!
My beautiful Santo is still awaiting a tiny crown - may have to fashion one myself - but she's wearing her Christmas wings and holding a lovely crystal beaded rosary. The large crown I found recently at The Depot in Concord, NC - you may recall seeing DH modeling it at the antiques mall!
The Christmas spirit is all around. Happy decorating at your home. I'll have more to share next time.
Particularly love the Madonna and the angel. The entire look is perfect. I love that but cannot see myself knowing how to even put that style together. It is your European experiences that allow you to do that I would say. Blessings
