Dawn to dusk --------------------

We were out on Sunday doing what many of us are doing these busy days.
The morning started here - a quick bite at a newly opened breakfast/lunch
place. . . . . . .

. . . . . and by early evening we had ended up here just a few minutes from home.
It was incredibly warm and balmy, not at all like traditional Christmas weather.
Strolling about in just light clothing, enjoying blossoms in December.
As always, Anthropologie had great windows, and with snow! Wondering if we'll
get the real thing some time this Winter.

  1. Was that a gingerbread house? It was incredible. To have hibiscus growing now, you must live where it is still warm. The cold will come. Seems it usually comes around New Year's here. I dread it.

  2. It sounds like a wonderful day. I wasn't doing anything nearly as much fun. Kent was traveling for work for the day and I went to 3 grocery stores.

  3. Mary, is Rise a soufflé restaurant? There is one in Dallas, but it isn't a chain. Curious if she opened another one. The Dallas Rise is fabulous, filled with French antiques, and wonderful menu. Will write more about it later.
Off to run some errands. '-)

    1. No Sarah, this is just a modern standard biscuit/donut place, there are several around NC, franchised I think - latest two just opened in Raleigh to the usual hype. Food was good but somewhat overpriced, and of course we rarely eat things like that as they are not exactly a healthy start to the day. Just want to try it out out with granddaughter Jasmin - did enjoy being able to eat outside in warm sunshine though.
Please tell us about your lovely sounding Dallas Rise some day.
      Mary -

  4. That sounds like a wonderful day. Oh how nice to see the winter camellias, there are some blooming just a couple blocks from my house too. Wishing I had time to stop at Anthopology yesterday when I was nearby. They have terrific displays.

  5. What a fun day. Anthropologie has the BEST windows. Alas, I have to admire them from afar, on the web, as we have none on our little island.

  6. I loved your Christmasy city shots, especially the store window. Have a happy time during the holidays.

  7. What an amazing window display. None such here really but we were fortunate enough to see London's various shop windows right after bonfire night when there for my Aunt's funeral this year. I always in particular enjoy Harrod's (which, btw, featured little mice and ballerinas and such--you would have loved it). Selfriges, however, was ghastly modern. Made no sense and did not feel like xmas at all.
