Busy today doing required jobs about the cottage. . . . . .including taking photos in the garden to share with you later of course. Yes, it's happening, Spring is springing, flowers are peeking out from buds, temperatures are warming, birds are singing and probably checking for nesting sites.
My cuppa today - caffeine free Rooibos Chai for a change.
I first tasted Rooibos in Botswana when on my first safari.
Just having a tea break - bit earlier than my usual 'teatime' - then back to the kitchen to make soup and wash the kitchen floor - we had workmen in yesterday and I can feel the residue they left behind. Thankfully they did a good job though. I thought it so cute when I offered coffee or tea - they asked if perhaps they could have a cup of tea with milk and sugar! No, they weren't British, just two Southern brothers who were definitely some of my favorite service people ever!
Cute tea towel - gift from granddaughter Jasmin
Happy March - it arrived here like a lamb. A balmy 72F with a breeze outside right now!
That does sound like a very British cuppa! I've tried Rooibos but was not too keen.
ReplyDeleteMarch has arrived on the Island like a lion - high, gale-force winds and driving rain. There are breakers on our normally-quiet bay. Very exciting!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have found good workmen. We have some work to be done and it seems to be a jungle out there!
It was warm and lovely here today as well. The weather will be cooler and in the 50's the next few days.
ReplyDeleteMary, Just a note to say that I do drink Rooibos tea and like it. I prefer ones with flavor. Let me know if you like this brand. We are having someone do a couple of things around here. Not all that I would like and had to decide which ones, so very expensive.
ReplyDeleteI tried Rooibos a few years ago, but it wasn't for me. '-)
ReplyDeleteOur March arrived as a lamb too. Wonder what that means for us Texans. I would have guested it would have entered as a lion with the winds we were experiencing recently.
Harney & Sons makes a very good tea. I am sure your rooibos chai was delicious. Our March came in a bit as a lion, so hoping for the lamb to come along sometime in the month. Spring has definitely sprung and I am loving it.
ReplyDeleteMarch arrived like a roaring lion - NW Washington is taking a beating. High winds and monstrous amounts of rain - but that means snow in the mountains - which will end soon with our weather warming up. I love the tea towel. A hot cup of tea sounds good - there is one piece of apple cake left, I'll share it with Don.
ReplyDeleteLoving your temps, Mary. Snow and icy roads here today and then snow off and on over the next 5 days.
ReplyDeleteBuds and warm temps---we need to move to Raleigh! I so love your teacups and saucers. I've heard of this tea and must try.
Hugs,
Jane
Tea was most welcome on this first day of March that roared in fiercely. I do enjoy pretty and unique tea towels - yours is both! And is that a piece of biscotti I spy? Yummy with tea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely teatime display. The towel is so sweet and perfect for you as a birdwatcher. I just bought some rooibos chai last week that is from a South African company I'd not ever seen here before. The boxes their teas come in have wonderful old pictures on them. Have never heard of Harney & Sons either. Happy March!
ReplyDeleteLove the tea towel, that the southern workmen didn't ask for their tea iced and that you've been on safari.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of your tea break...and please send those 70 degree temps here to 12 degree IL! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLike the photos, what a lovely scene. I love that those men were so fun with you on the tea thing. Rooibos is one of those very few non traditional black teas I will drink, especially if made into a latte (like Borders book shop used to do) or a chai. :)
