Recently, early morning, a flock of beautiful Cedar waxwings took a
short break in our backyard trees. I first noticed about a dozen squabbling
over whom would get a drink from the birdbath.
I ran for the camera but by the time I returned to the window they
were up on the branches with about 20 more birds, all preening before moving
on to wherever they were headed, probably back up north. Such lovely birds.

Weather has turned cold after the stormy night but will
warm up again tomorrow.

They are such lovely birds. What a beautiful sight to see them perched in your tree, chatting (or squabbling) among themselves.

ReplyDeleteThe wawings are gorgeous birds - they look very similar to ours. For the past few years waxwings have been arriving here more and more, must be global warming I suspect.

ReplyDeleteWe have occasional visits from a group of galahs and they make a great noise - same thing discussing who feeds from the feeder first I imagine!

The cedar waxwing is on the list of birds which frequent my neck of the woods, but as yet I have been unable to add them to my sightings list. Yesterday, I saw a pair of beautiful Brown Thrashers, the Georgia state bird. The birds are not visiting my feeder quite as often now, but I can hear them twittering up in the trees, so I know they are busy doing Spring things. The trees are leafing out, so I will not be able to see them as well as I do in the wintertime, but Miz Bluebird has once again been checking out my bluebird house on the patio. Happy Easter to you .... hope you've had a good time in Branson!
