It has brightened here too and Jane is especially thankful because she was worried her tortoise would wake if it stayed so mild. Truly, she was! And perhaps, now I think, that helps put things in perspective - we have little to worry about in historical terms and much to celebrate. Including sunlight that's like glitter on the walls. Take care. M
Hope Jane's tortoise stays well. My brother has Tommy tortoise in his French garden - has been there forever - well at least the 18 years they've lived in the house! He always hibernates under the same row of shrubs along a stone wall. It was the corn merchant's house and is over 200 years old. . . . . and fabulous. Doubt Tommy has been there quite that long though!
Thank you so much Helen. It's been years since I've written much Haiku but today something told me I needed to recognize the lovely light from the chandelier crystals with a few words!!! I feel the need to do this more often. Hugs - Mary
Dearest Mary, Shadows can indeed at times resemble little crystals. You are of course in the snow zone but here we don't see any I'm afraid. That is so seldom. Hugs, Mariette
When the winter sun slants into my rooms, I am nearly always tempted to take photos, but I doubt I'd manage to capture the play of light and shadow as good as you did. Below freezing here for the past two or three nights, but still no snow...
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR is a fresh version of my former three year blog ACROSS THE POND which can still be accessed by clicking on the title above. I'm a transplanted Brit enjoying life in North Carolina.
Sixty two years of journeying back and forth across the wide Atlantic Ocean have kept me busy…….and made my life very interesting! Although I've now visited all seven continents, I continue to travel and look forward to sharing new places around the world. I love taking photos! All images are my own unless noted otherwise. Please do not use my photos without a request. I enjoy sharing and will usually say OK!

It's cold here too. Not so cold that it will show but enough.
ReplyDeleteWow! Loree - cold in Malta seems unusual! Is was so hot when we were there - would love to come back some day.

Beautiful and clever photos, dear Mary. I hope you get a pretty dusting of snow, not too cold. Still hot and humid here :) xx
ReplyDeleteHope you are tucked inside all cozy and warm.
ReplyDeleteThe loveliest of glitter - it doesn't need cleaning up! Hope the snow is beautiful for you. We've warmed up considerably.
