Spring Cleaning. . . . . . . . . . .

Sorry. . . . . . . life is empty.
Busy, but void of fun things to post about this weekend!
I hope to bounce back soon.

P.S.   Today is Mother's Day in the UK - we called it Mothering Sunday
when I was growing up there.
A very happy Mother's Day to all my British friends who are mums.
Sadly for me, this year it falls on the 12th anniversary of my own lovely English
mum's death. I sipped a glass of Harvey's Bristol Cream in her memory -
she and I enjoyed a tipple at the sherry bottle when I was home visiting!
How I miss those days.

  2. I remember Harvey's Bristol Cream sherry. I remember my mother having this only at Christmas or maybe when a special aunt & uncle came to visit.
Happy Mothers day, to all our English Mums whether they have passed on or are still here with their family.

  8. Happy Mother's Day. I think of my Mom often when I am doing things that she taught me to do. I learned a lot from her. She seemed so much smarter than me. Harvey's Bristol Cream is hard to find here. I did a blog on Beautiful Blue Glass last month and wanted the blue bottle(cobalt blue glass).I asked in Liquor Stores here and they don't carry it. I could not find any anywhere, so I bought a blue bottle of wine. When I visit my daughter in the city for Easter and I will look there. take care...

  9. Oh my gosh! I have not thought of Harvey's Bristol Cream in years. We used to sip on that with mom too, that's before we all graduated to stronger spirits.
It is hard to get in the right mood when it's still so muddy but I have a window open just a crack to let the warmer fresh air in.

  10. I will raise my glass to you and your Mum Mary. My grandparents used to drink Harveys at Christmas and it brings so many happy memories to the fore for me. Take care xx

  11. Oh, I'm so sorry, Mary. I am not looking forward to when my own mother goes. She's been in hospital lately and each time I think it is her last outing, so to speak. Very very hard.

Yes, we called it Mothering Sunday too but I thought they still did there.

Hope things turn around for you soon, dear bloggie friend. Chin up. Wishing you the best.

  12. I do spring cleaning, but it always ends up as rearranging furniture/accessories!
