A Favorite Thing......a museum visit.

Last Saturday afternoon.................

....we pulled on boots and parkas (I seem to have been doing
this often lately - especially while in Antarctica
last month!), left the warmth of home........

.......and headed into town to view the Titanic Exhibition.

We'd seen it before some years ago when
vacationing in Victoria, British Columbia
taking our granddaughter along that time.

This time we took our sweet next door neighbor Raya - a
second grader who seemed to know more about the Titanic
than we did........and did a fantastic job reading the
signage to us.
Way to go sweet smart girl.

And this Saturday?
Intentions were to go see the movie "Quartet" BUT
I'm home all snuggled up and nursing a
beastly head cold and no voice with hot tea,
soup, and chocolate of course........and
watching season 2 of Homeland while the
rain falls steadily.

Linking to Claudia over at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for
A Favorite Thing Saturday......a fun place to take
a little break during your day......if you
can't get to a museum or a movie theatre.

  2. Oh, no! Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather, Mary! I've never seen the Titanic Exhibition but I bet it would extremely interesting. After all, there's such a fascination with that terrible tragedy.

Watch Homeland and take care of yourself. We haven't seen any of that series yet. But then again, we haven't seen Downton Abbey either!

Thanks so much for joining in this week!

  10. The Titanic was at our local museum this summer. It was fascinating but very eerie. Especially when given a card with one of the passengers names along with their family members. The sad part is when you find out at the end whether your family lived or died. Very sad tragic event and seeing some of the artifacts made it very real. Hope you're feeling better soon.

  14. Oh Mary, I wish I could parcel up some NZ sunbeams and send them your way!
You're in a good place with life's necessities at your fingertips!!
The Titanic exhibition would have been so interesting - horrific as it was - it happened at such a fascinating time in history, I would love to see the collection of artifacts.

YOU will absolutely adore "Quartet"!!! I don't usually buy DVD's of films I've seen but this is a classic and I could watch it over again. I loved everything about it and I've already booked my room at Beecham House!
