Pottering about -

Last weekend I enjoyed a couple of hours here with my lovelies. . . . . . . friend
Vanessa and granddaughter Jasmin.
Market Imports is an amazing home and garden store covering 2 acres
on the grounds of our State Farmers Market.
It was a hot afternoon, I wore a sun hat, comfortable sandals, and a summer
dress. We wandered slowly taking in so many beautiful items. I think
this was our overall favorite spot as we kept returning to it.

I plan to return soon to see if the piece I keep dreaming about is still there.

Perhaps I'll bring it home!

This weekend I haven't been far. Yesterday morning I collected my order of
farm eggs from my nearby pop up market. I then stopped by Target just to
look around. The store was totally in upheaval, a mess like I've never
seen before. Apparently their sales are off, their profits down and they are
going to try out new merchandise options. It was a sad sight as I've
always loved Target.

Today the rains came. Very heavy at times, thunder rumbled in the distance.
It's beautiful out right now at 4 o'clock . . . . . . . a front porch wicker chair,
a comfy seat cushion, and a glass of chilled rosé will be perfect before
 I cook supper.

  1. The porch sounds pleasant indeed. Hope that "your" piece is still there. If you're dreaming about it, must be meant to live at your house.

  2. I used to think that retirement would be endlessly boring. But now, after 2.5 years of my own retirement, the idea of reading on the front porch, white wine on the table, sounds like bliss.

  3. I was afraid that retirement would be boring. But so far, so good. Sitting on the front porch, reading and sipping white wine sounds very appealing.

    1. Retirement is never boring when one stays interested in life Hels. I just have a feeling you have much to keep you very busy and that you are enjoying your newly found freedom!

  4. Is your dream piece in one of the pictures? I would love to know which one it is!
Please send some of that rain our way, if you can spare it. We had a bit of a shower here and there on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but it was more an alibi than really doing much good to the parched fields, gardens and woods.

    1. It's in the center photo Meike - the straight-sided pot alone on the second from bottom shelf. I should have taken a close-up to show the beautiful motifs - for some reason I just fell for that that one!
More rain here last last and will get some daily now for the week ahead - that time of year - hope you get some too.

  5. Now I am wondering which of those lovely pieces you are dreaming about? There are several that I would happily find a place for. Hope all is well with you both.

    1. You are so right Rosemary, they have such a great selection and although replicas are really beautiful. We are doing good although the heat of this summer has been difficult at times - roll on autumn say I!

  8. How nice to enjoy that special outing with a friend and your granddaughter. I hope that piece you are dreaming about makes it's way to your home. Sad to hear about Target. It seems like so many of the brick and mortars are nothing like they were pre-Covid.

  10. Oo, there's nothing like something to play on your mind! I have no space or need for even the smallest bibelot to garnish my life but I still maintain that if something beckons like a siren's call and is there when you go back, it was meant to be yours :)
