Visiting home again -

Time is flying fast and we've already been here in my home town for a week.
Needless to say it has been really busy and will remain this way for the entire
stay.  Many family members and friends to visit, places to see, shopping
being done for things English I still find hard to live without, and restful times
to just sit and enjoy the scenery with a coffee mug, cup of tea, or a glass of
wine, depending on the time of day.

Weather has been quite good, warm and sunny at first, now cooler and
a little damp with light showers and bracing breezes from the
English Channel.

Some photos to show you where my "home, sweet home" is - all of these
 were taken in Torquay, Devon.
I'll try to get back here during the visit - if you don't see me here, just
know it's because I'm having too much fun!

  1. I can already get the whiff of the sea air by looking at those sail boats.

  2. I'm so pleased you are enjoying your stay in your home country. It is very chilly up in the North here but am sure it will be warmer where you are - it looks lovely as always. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

  4. There is something magical about going back to your home town later in life. Even if life wasn't perfect back then, and whose was, seeing the old house, school, shops, beaches, boats etc brings a warm glow. And Torquay is gorgeous :)

  5. Dear Mary, you won me with the first photo of Thatcher Rock - how beautiful it is. So pleased to know you are there in your homeland, and having a great time. Hopefully the Fish Bistro and Wine Bar feature in your activities. What a beautiful harbour - I bet a lot of artists go painting there. Enjoy. xxx

  7. Welcome back! I hope the weather this weekend does not come as too much of a shock, it's supposed to be turning colder. South Devon is a lovely part of the world. Have fun!

  9. Having reasonably good weather too, Mary, unless you caught the storm yesterday. I thought I was going to lose my cherry tree, the wind was so fierce. Enjoy every day, I'm sorry I'm not nearer to be able to meet again.
