I'm in Quebec City where the eastern heatwave has headed north. Montreal was stifling. When we arrived here yesterday it was unbelievably hot and very humid. Today a little cooler with a chance of showers.
Until I have a chance to post on my current visit to Canada (having problems posting new photos) a few more images of the beautiful things displayed at the Red Chair Antiques in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
Crusty old urns overflowing with starfish and balls of smooth cotton string..........
..........my favorites, French linen grain sacks and tablecloths..............
......white tureen, beautiful ginger jar......
..........vintage book and music sheets ~ keys to the castle...........
.......antique linen shirts, one in foreground vintage French army..........
...............French bottle dryer.
I love the look of these neutral colors.....soothing and homey with a little extra panache. Knowing many of these delightful objects have been saved by their owners, sometimes for decades, then brought here across the pond to have a new life for even longer....makes me happy and makes me want to bring much of it home!
What a beautiful store Mary! I wish i could find one like this here. I so love those grain sack pillows!!
ReplyDeleteHow did you like Montreal? Isn't it a beautiful chic city? I used to go every summer before i got married.
I really enjoyed your last post as well didn't get a chance to comment.
Enjoy the rest of Canada!
